IPSC @ Barrie and No Provincials

So then someone start a petition to demand answers from the board on the subject and bring it to the next BOD meeting.. talking about it here is one thing.. getting it done is another..

I would hope that a petition of that nature would not be required and that the BOD and indivuduals involved would all do the right thing and bring everything from both sides into the open.

My club has not fired me, and I will do my best Monday to get those things done for the Barrie Club. I will still do my duties untill a repacement is found.

John, in my understanding you already got a good Level III match preparation rolling at Barrie. Can't you still the match, even so it won't be called Ontario Provincials? We don't have that many Level IIIs in Canada, so loosing one would be a real shame.

I have no doubt that there will still be a provincials so not having one at Barrie would not mean losing one just a possible change of venue on the same weekend.

If you want another Level III why not set one up at your club. As you said you cannot have enough level III matches.

You know...you guys are basing this entire rant...on second and third hand information. You already have the entire BOD tried and convicted...and as far as I know...only one person in this thread has any first hand knowledge.

I know this Board...and I have every confidence that everything will get resolved. I'm also pretty sure that none of us have all the details (not even John)

If you think running IPSC Ontario is so easy...I challenge you to sit in that chair for a while.

You guys need to chill out...this is getting ridiculous.

Wow, 204 posts and I'm more confused now than before...
In bussiness there is a saying "perception is reality" Who creates this perception and whether or not it's real or acurate is besides the point. You can't sell the pie if the perception is its poo.
Just sayin...
How many sections in Canada and how many complaints are aired from outside Ontario?
Come on guys, there cannot be an abundance of dedicated volunteers who work hard enough to be (initially) a provincial MD, or board director for that matter. Get along already.
I am curious though, how does one lose their RO status (potentially their membership) before a match has ever happened?
And not to pick on anyone but I thought you had to be an active shooter to be a member of IPSC, from my loose interpretation you have a dedicated member who doesn't shoot? am I wrong?

I've been on the phone with a couple of the key players in this over the last couple of days... And I am confident to say that I don't have all the details.

Let's face it, after the train started derailing, people will tell you anything so you don't think that they caused the wreck.

So until I get enough details from more of the key players... I'll be chillin.

How it relates to this thread, I have no idea, but...
I am aware of no policy that requires participation beyond achieving your Black Badge for the maintenance of your IPSC membership.

That is weird....because I am almost positive when I took the BB course 3 years ago, it was in the course description that you had to shoot at least 1 level 2 in order to keep your "status"......where would I get that idea from, if not the BB course?

There is no such policy...

Never say never my good man. Stranger things have happened and there is nothing more dangerous to an organization than a pissed off and militant membership. Just ask the Teamsters of Canada they arbitrarily canned our stewards for not towing the party line so we as the membership voted them back in. Then kicked their butts to the curb & took the entire membership over to CAW.

Well I can say with absolute certainty that USPSA would not get involved. Feel free to PM me if you want to know the details of why I know that.

John...your missing my point. Your a well respected member of the BGC who is also a volunteer... you came forward to help the place out, and make it better; and you deserve credit. Your absolutely right, that you haven't been fired by the club, and I was only joking about the batteries:redface:...but If they are going to provide the club with a representative until one is voted in, then they need to have a taste of what you've been dealing with as a volunteer at the club level. You were not appointed by IPSC Ontario, you were voted in by US! Allow me to quote their dear john letter:

Dear John;

This letter is to inform you that effective immediately your position as the IPSC Ontario Club Representative for the Barrie Gun Club is revoked. IPSC Ontario will notify the Barrie Gun Club IPSC members that they will need to elect a new Club Rep at their earliest convenience. In the meantime, IPSC Ontario will appoint someone to this position.:jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:
