If CCW was granted, have you thought about what you would carry?

ya like 20cents a liter. but gun laws are super strict there as far as google is concerned :) the highest murder rate in the world?

Cheap fuel right know 5 cents a liter and its from 89 and up we dont have 87, the gun laws are a joke, really nice woman's but over there you HAVE to shot people:redface: or they will shot you its not joke, its for real.cops don't do the work they have to, if you don't protect your self no cop its going to, they just turn around and came back when its over:(

You have no clue what you're talking about. I used to live in a place with CCW, and I carried every day. I carried a Colt Series 70 1911 and it was a great carry gun. The only other gun I carried regularly was a Series 80.

Most of the guys I know from back then still carry 1911s. Some have been been carrying 1911s pretty near every single day for more than a decade.

I also know a lot of guys who carry G19s. But the 1911 is a terrific carry pistol...thin and flat, and the weight is not a big deal with a good belt and holster.

The G27? How much experience do you have with G27s? I would guess judging by the fact that you think they are by far the best option that you must have zero experience with them. 8 round 1911 mags are practically the standard now, and given the difference in shootability between a quality 1911 and a G27, if I were choosing between the two I would not even consider the Glock. The 1911 will be back on target in half the time, shot to shot, and the heavy gun/light trigger combo makes it WAY easier to shoot accurately under stress than the extremely lightweight/hard to grip G27 with the heavier trigger. Also, considering the common issues with Glock mag extensions, I would be extremely hesitant to run my primary mag with one.

I agree, mass CCW is unlikely in Canada, but if it happens, and for whatever reason we still have 10 round mag limits, I would very seriously look at a Colt 1911 with an 8 round mag in the gun and a 10 on my belt.

Interestingly, that is also a top pick of Dr. Gary Roberts for 10-round states with CCW...

I read your post and I wonder how many miles you've walked while toting your pistol.

The old line, "weight is not a big deal with a good belt and holster", works on people who haven't walked much, unless your idea of walking much is walking from your house to your truck, from your truck to the store and back, and from your truck to your house.

Go on a hike sometime, and then get back to us on how "weight is not a big deal with a good belt and holster".

I only see the slight difference of weight making a difference if your an older guy or a women. Its really the size of the G19 that makes it an easier carry. Of course if it is an open carry which is much more likely in Canada then size is irrelevant. Which is why open carry guys carry 5 inch 1911s, sigs and HK's and concealed carry guys carry G19s or 4inch 1911s.

Many men carried full size 1911s much further then any of us are going to walk in a day, along with a 8lb rifle and lots of gear.
 
Even tho am not a big fan of glocks, it's still my choice, i really don't want to have to use one. Carrying it 99.9% of the time not being used weight is important.
Of course, Glock 21 SF.... or glock 22
