I love everything about the New King, and Burger King too!!!
. The bonus is that then you get to use cream of wheat to blow out your cases.
Obviously you know precious little about fireforming 338 LAI cases...![]()
Well, actually... I'd say I know quite a bit about fireforming! But thanks for upping hte post count anyways...![]()
I was launching 300gr bullets at 2725fps from a 20" barrel the other day.
According to Lapua, it takes a 26" barrel to send 300gr bullets at 2723fps
Excuses Excuses :jerkit
Although I am sure the Lapua is a better long range sniper cartridge than the NEW KING, this is largely irrelevant for hunters.
Unless you're hunting Taliban
But one of 2 preferrred rounds for dangerous game in south central Asia.![]()
I'm not trying to promote the Lapua, my point is that there is no REAL king.
The reason I brought up military rounds was that the majority of main stream hunting ammunition started out as a military cartridge (30-06spr, 308win, 223Rem, 7X57mauser, 6.5X55sw etc.)
For the most part I feel that 375 & up (and this is just my opinion), with the exception of Alaskan bruins, is too much gun for North American game. I had a 375 H&H and found it too much for just about everything. I got rid of it and got something more reasonable.
So to call the 375 Ruger king of the 375's is a bit arrogant as there are 375 cartidges that do things better than the Ruger and if you point out the popularity of Ruger I'm sure it still has a way to go before there are more Rugers in the world than H&H's. On the day this is surpassed then you can call the Ruger king over the H&H and I'm sure it will give you a nice warm fuzzy. Until then enjoy the king of the molehill.
Oh reeeeeeeally?I've been keeping my eyes open for King brass, but so far nothing.
Oh reeeeeeeally?
.
Well to be fair, I haven't looked hard at all. One store so far
Factory ammo has been easy to find tho, so Im just reusing that brass for now
