The NEW KING is taking off!

This applies to any real magnum, but I get a kick out of the Alaskan for sale in the EE right now; "Fired twice, comes with 18 rounds of ammo."

Years ago when I was helping out in a local gun shop, I sold a new Ruger 77 in 416 Rigby when they first came along......same story.
The chap fired two rounds and returned the rifle with 18 rounds.
His reason...." I never needed it anyway ! " ;)

Yeah, that made me chuckle...

Is it OK to laugh, if I freely admit, more trigger time (and a better than Ruger recoil pad) will be required for me to master the recoil of the KING ?:D

It is definitely a thump :)

After 10-15 I start to get a little twitchy and have to go put a few downrange with the .22, but such is life with the KING :dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

For the life of me i can't figure out why you guys are getting so excited about a shareholder owned production rifle that is as interesting to compare as the 308 to the 30-06.Long live the King of Mediocrity the 375 Ruger:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

I posted these 300 yard groups I recently shot with the KING over at AR, but I dont' think I posted them here. I think this sort of accuracy will kill a moose at 300 paces...;)

Dead moose fo sho! :)

Well men, if you remember the earlier debated muzzle brake trek off of topic, I was going for a self paid MRI on the old backbone. Not great news. T11 is a very rare Butterfly vertabrae showing disc issues as well as a smaller than normal foramenal opening for the nerve root to pass through. The disc between L4 and L5 is bulging and the disc between L5 and S1 has a rupture. Both are placing pressure on the casing of my spinal cord.

Good news is the damage is low enough (I hope because I'm not a doctor and screw Holiday Inns) that recoil shouldn't affect it. Just my tender shoulder but I'm determined to try a thick Kickeez pad and no brake to start on whatever I buy. The CZ550 is in the lead! Bad news is probably surgery and recovery time and until then near constant pain in my hips and legs and sometimes feet.

Since I payed for my MRI they gave me my own disc to view that includes the viewing software! I know what my innerds looks like! Not sure but I might even be able to post pics. Heck, you guys can probably even do the damn procedure after all the game you have processed.

Jason my Friend, these 64 yr. old hands are still pretty steady and I'm more than willing to help a fellow CGNer....all we need is someone to hold you down. :)

And let's be honest...anything that ends in "Wby Mag" on the headstanp will be a blip of the radar compared to everything else. Wonder why that is?

Probably because they are mostly proprietary cartridges. Also, anyone content to own something as pedestrian as a .375 Ruger probably couldn't appreciate an epitome of awsomeness such as the .378Wby anyway.:nest::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

I was warned by the Ruger legal dept. They told me that if I was to actually own 2 different rifles in .375 Ruger I couldn't store them both at home. They know that no home is built strong enough to house the awesomeness of more than one .375 Ruger.

You could get around that by getting one of the NEW KINGS and one .416 Ruger or .338 RCM...

ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!!

Now this thread is turning very, very ghey. Puuuulease tone it down boyz.

Turning? It was turned eons ago with the very first dancing banana. Gheys of the new millenium come in all shapes and sizes. Not like the old 1900's century when it easy to spot'em.;)

Now you find a lot of them growing facial hair and hunting grizzly bears with the newest "petite" magnum rifles on the market. They know it's not the length of the barrel, it's how you use it! :dancingbanana:

Ever wonder why the big surge in stainless steel showed up in guns? Because it's super simple to accessorize with.....:D

There was a day when a man was satisfied with hardened cold blued steel.

Now they desire titanium, stainless, plastic and other synthetics in order to satisfy.
