Hey guys, notice the bolded part.
Far too often we get some self appointed expert saying that the Canadian market s too small to worry about, and that the gun makers dont care about us up here.
I call Bullchit.
Do me a favour and print off this post and staple/glue it to the forehead of the next guy that says we do not matter.

Oh , and to Vault Distribution, well done! I saw the RFB at the SHOT shaw a few years ago, and have been intriqued every since.
Good on ya!:)

haha i like this guy!

If I remember correctly in our phone conversation he stated he has approved export permit for them. I have my doubts about more than about 10-20 getting here on this shipment though. Hopefully not a delivery promise either by Keltec cause I wouldn't put money on this if that is the case.

I'm just being very cautious here. This guy has a new website up, and 3 posts only. While ArmsEast (Walt) has been importing Stag AR rifles successfully during the hard times with the US DOS regulations. Arms East has said the US won't give Export permits. Keep in mind he had a Canadian FRT number for them a year and a half ago and Kel-Tec also told him they would do a 18.5" barrel version. Right now they are practically hand made rifles with almost no real delivery. 550 so far have been made. With the US market saying demand outweighs the supply would be the understatement of the year. Also to keep in mind it's a $1100 rifle to dealers. Arms East said they would be under 2K. $2500 seems a bit steep to me for those who are speculating.

doesnt the kel-tec website say that the rifle's msrp is 1800 usd?

I'm fairly sure back a year and a half ago that while I was looking up FRT numbers that I saw one for the Kel-Tec RFB on the RCMP FRT program. I can't confirm that however.

They've spent a lot of time to do this right and we gave Kel-Tec a lot of input to Canadian Legal Requirements as well as US Export requirements (the ever changing world of...).

Most of the current legalities are with specialized paperwork requirements for these, and ensuring the best possible configs.

FRTs have been issued for Restricted and Non-Restricted Versions.

Also both Arms East and Kodiak Outpost haven't had any luck getting DOS approval. Yes I know you can sometimes get it and sometimes you can't. However both of these companies have managed to get approval for hard to get rifles in the past. Arms East has listed that they have tried a couple of times.

I'm optimistic but a bit confused about what's going on with the RFB.

The smaller manufacturers like Robinson Armament, and Kel Tec are both great companies, goes to show the smaller "ma and pa" companies are still the best to deal with, as they know that every customer counts. How many larger companies would produce a special version for us Canadians?

As for the Export permit, I have a feeling, if it true they got one, that it was a case of the right person had the application on their desk, and thats how it got approved. Look at the FNH PS-90. Until a few months ago they were rarer then solid gold hens teeth since the DOS would not approve their export. Now Questar brings them in regularly. Its the luck of the draw.

By the way, Vault Distribution, maybe you should look into getting a lotto ticket, you seem to be on a roll. That 50 Million would buy a lot of RFB's, which you could sell at US Prices.

Yes and I also recall a certain party who did time for selling a bunch of PS-90s when no one else could get them in yet he was able to. How many people lost money on that one?

I hope this guy is legit. The FRT number though has me a bit concerned because I am positive I saw it when I had access to the program a year and a bit ago and I know that Arms East said they already had it a long time ago.

I've been waiting for this rifle for a number of years now. I'm as excited about getting one as the next guy here. I just hope this isn't some sort of sick hoax. I tend to err on the side of caution. That being said if they do become available and everything is legit then I will very happily buy one.

Hmmmm, I'd be way more interested in one of the longer barrelled rifles. I think the 32" tube would be a bit much; but something in the area of 24"-to-26" would really float my boat, so I hope we get more than the "Canada-Only, 18.5" 's.
