Shorten PAL Approval Times

Can somebody, who has a licence, help me? Since I got my licence number on the phone, I would like to order some things online.

1) Is the middle name or initial included on the printed card, or just first and last names?

2) If the license was issued today, when does it expire? Maybe yesterday's date, 5 years from now?

Thanks in advance.

First of all excuse my english, I live in Quebec but I didn't find any place where the PAL application stuff was so well detailed.
The received my app a month ago, but I got a letter last monday saying that I gave them the wrong CC number..my mistake. I called them immediatly and 3 seconds later the "in progress" message was appeiring on the RCMP site. I called them in the afternoon to know what was the following of the process, they said that the app was sent to the Quebec CFO and THEY (QUEBEC CFO) will call me and my references if needed. Is it the normal procedure, because I'm reading on this forum that you and your references can call the CFC to make the interview. It's for the PAL, not the RPAl. Thanks.

Once again, Quebec is the ugly duckling. In Quebec, you cannot have your references call in for the interview. They have to wait to be called. i was informed of that by a very kind officer from the CFC.

Me and my references were both called By the SQ, 2 weeks after i sent my application. So yes, i guess its the normal procedure. Your provincial CFO is the one to give final approval.

Note : Mine was for RPAL.

hope this helps.

1) Full middle name.
2) Expires 5 years later on your BDAY. So 2015/month/day.

I tryed that. They said they would not give it to me, that i need to have the card on me to transport or possess a firearm. They said.. my card has been issued and that i will just have to wait a couple more days. Making me sound like a bratty impatient kid haha.

Thanks a lot. Yes I called the SQ yesterday and they said that my app was sitting on someone's desk and when I proposed to make my references call in because they are dentists and they can't answer the phone during the day, they said : we have a night shift, so we'll contact them!....

which is true, the person i talked to worked until 9pm. Don't worry, they'll call, just be patient and go on with your life in the mean time.

Dealers require a copy (scan/picture) of both sides of the actual license for ordering online.. not just the # as a rule.

However you can fill in LTATT etc forms now w/your #.

Also note.. for anyone trying to get your # from them over the phone.. they have an insane rule that the CFC is not allowed to give that out over the phone..

Therefore just use the extension you wrote down when doing your interview (you did write it down right?) to xfer to the CFO and they can give it to you.

According to one of the dealers on CGN, this is no longer entirely true. Well...it is, but if you choose not to hand over photos/scans, you have to complete the transfer with the CFC yourself rather than have the dealer do it for you.

Based on new information we have received from our CFO, we no longer require pictures of your PAL for firearms purchases. For those buyers who are okay with sending us pictures of their PAL, we will continue to verify your ID with the CFC and complete the transfer in it's entirety on our end. Should a buyer opt not to send pictures of their PAL, we will start the transfer and you will be required to call the CFC afterwards to complete the transfer.

That said, everyone should just wait a few more days for Mr. Mail Man to deliver their PAL...then the dealer can complete the transfer for you!

Hmm..I already successfully ordered a rifle from Cabela's and a handgun from another place with just the PAL number and other info, but no scans.

waiting period starts the day they receive it, not the day it shows up online. So in your case, day one is october 18
