Update Beretta smashed, need a new gun see page 11 for advice

Thanks for all the help guys. I ordered this guy today. The Franchi I was looking at when they checked it at the store was broken. So no Franchi. What I got was a 687 Ultralight

I find Beretta and Browning to be opposites,if Beretta fits you, then Browning doesn't,and vice versa.Brownings have much more drop at the comb,so they fit me,whereas Berettas don't fit me at all.

X2 Brownings fit me better too. Unless they have the palm swell...

I find with Berettas a Band Saw works best. :)

lol, I dunno the stock doesnt look like it has alot of drop and the lop seems about average. I have alot of guns though with stocks of all varying sizes so it should be "close enough" (stay tuned for next weeks thread titled, "muthar ####er dont fit" :p)

A close up before the hacksaw! I must admit I bought this mainly because it was simple, light weight and just looked nice. I realize its only got 2 3/4 chambers, but it comes with 5 chokes and I just wanted something basic to use as my hunting gun.

2-3/4" chambers will do fine.I intend to do all of my shotgun hunting with a 20gauge with 2-3/4" chambers and a 28gauge.I don't need anything larger.

You must have pushed your buget a bit? I have handled quite a few of these. It should be a pleasure to carry. Don't worry about it being 2 3/4 because its enough except very big geese at longer range. We will expect a range report and maybe even a video.:D

Yeah I like the idea of hunting with just 2 shots to. The budget took abit of a beating. I have read alot in the last couple of weeks, alot of stuff says that if you go cheap on O/Us you will end up regretting it if you want a gun that will last a longtime.

This is exactly what one of our UK instructor pilots bought about 2 months ago as well.
I would say this is a great choice.

Cheers!

I dunno, I've seen CZ's go thousands of rounds, and have met people with Baikals that are 30 years old and never gave them any grief.

The chances may be slimmer that an expensive shotgun will give you less trouble, but it's not a sure thing by any stretch.

When I buy new, my expectation is hundreds of thousands of rounds quality. With a new purchase I often get into the thousands after several weeks.

I have cut back to a flat a week. That reminds me I should go to another meeting soon.
