I'm currently a member of 2 clubs....silverdale and the grange.
I've done my security level courses and done probation shoots at both clubs.
I have my ATT and everything else.
I looked into membership at the Burlington gun club which is located 15 minutes away from my house and found out that they will not recognize the courses I already did...my letters from my existing clubs indicating that I'm in good standing and that there is no course availability until end of April 2011!!! At which point I can take the course...attend all disciplines over a whole week every evening...and only then is my membership reviewed at a later point for full membership.
Long story short...I would be a full member there sometime end of may or June.....it's December!!!! Seriously?! That's 6-7 months!
They should simply make it an exclusive closed door no new member policy at this point.
Don't mean to say bad things about the organization but anyone who makes it that hard for me to simply give them my money and be given the opportunity to enjoy their facility is in my books not a new business friendly operation!

Once you find a club that supports an encourages shooting, it will be a club that DOES NOT CONDONE it's membership chairman to have a waiting list that long. BBRC operates with a sh^^ eating attitude that we'll maintain an rule the list of who we priviledge the rite to the exciting world of recreational shooting, but at their say so. Not in a nutshell buddy you are really waiting in line for day care. Theire's plenty of other clubs that will openly work with you.
