Time to Delete!

I am very pleased with Vaults efforts to get the sub 2000 in NON RESTRICTED form to us in Canada. Thank you and I am looking forward to buying two.

I can"t believe with think paying double the price for a rifle is ok. As canadian firearm owners we should be pushing for fair values.

That being said.. it is cool, when folded to 16' it would fit perfect in my trucks center console.

It was a good business decision to import a specialized 9mm into Canada that is NON Restricted! It even folds to 18.5 inches! It's the shortest non restricted ever!

this thread is getting SO repetitive. it costs vault money to get these rifles specially made with an 18.5 inch barrel, it costs to get them imported, and both the distributor and dealer need to make a penny off of it.

If it's too expensive for you, dont buy it. but look into things before you go blaming the people who work hard to bring YOU A QUALITY PRODUCT!

Is it?

Feels like a super soaker to me!

It is cool though, and being non restricted is pretty awesome I will admit.

All really great, until you pick one up, and you can feel and see just how cheap this gun actually is!

polymers do feel cheap, however the sub 2000 has a great track record for reliability and accuracy, i dont ask for much more than that.

no not all are double price, for example the kel tec rfb is almost on par with US prices. and the su 16 sounds like it will not be that bad either.

I basically consider the cost of importing a "16-inch'ed" firearm into Canada plus the cost of getting a gunsmith to rebarrel and fit to it one of 18.5 inches....:yingyang:...just how my mind is working regarding this....

Me thinks it prudent to wait until the costs drop by about 30% before considering purchasing a plastic toy for 100% markup regardless of the reasoning behind the inflation. It is probably a very justified price, but justification =/= a good deal, or a reasonable deal IMO.

well the prices are supposed to go down as the shipment sizes increase and whatnot, plus the first shipment carries some extra costs so it isnt unreasonable to think the price might go down to 500ish if we are lucky.

Keep in mind, that you can list multiple items on the export permit application. Exporting 50 rifles would only cost a few bucks more than exporting one (difference being 3% of total value). When you export dozens/hundreds of rifles, the permit cost is negligible.
Dealer cost in the US for the basic Sub 2000 is less than $250. How much more do you think Kel-Tec charges for a 2.5" longer barrel on a $250 gun? 10$? 20$? ...
Im willing to bet that the landed cost of these (after all the permit costs, shipping, brokerage, etc)in Canada is no more than $350.

The RFB price IS very reasonable in my opinion, considering all the bs from US state department that they had to put up with.. Sub2000 on the other hand... Not so much...
As much as i like the idea of a foldable non restricted 10rd semi, paying $750 (after shipping and taxes) for a gun that was intended to sell for $300 is outrageous.

At the current price, i highly doubt they will even sell the first shipment.

More for me :) And mine most certainly will not be $750. Buying local at $675 plus 5% GST.

So $710.....

That's like paying $50,000 for a Ford Fiesta because it needed new tires and a rear spoiler. :p

Awwww you noticed... how sweet ;)

edit: I don't think the Sub 2000 is junk btw, just like I don't think the Ford Fiesta is junk.... the Sub 2000 is worth every penny of $400, just like the Fiesta is worth every penny of $20,000.

Just don't try to sell me a fiesta at BMW prices and expect me to believe there are "good reasons" for doing so.

Would that mean there might not be a 2nd ? :yingyang:

Supply & demand can be weird creatures.....

Or are you thinking along a somewhat different line of thought, here ?

One more thing, though ;) - why does the price of the 10/22 just keep climbing, year after year ?
