AIA .308 magazines for a M14

$^*!

I only saw this thread for the first time today and I was going to pick up four of them after reading the first few pages. Keep us updated of when the next shipment comes in.

We've been told they have been shipped to the importer here in Canada. Last thing I was told as of this week.

I am as anxious about it as you guys are.

Spoke to Can Am this morning and they said that they are going to court as the RCMP have tried to prohibit them. There is a good reason to fight that because they are a bolt action magazine.

Ya thats what I figured would happen. Twenty rounds is probably pushing it. Even though its perfectly legal, the RCMP will try its hardest to prohibit them and dedicated boat loads of cash to fight it.

The chances of winning this are probably slim, just look what happened when Can Am tried to make a 10/30 LAR-15 pistol mag, deemed a "rifle" mag and deemed Prohibited.

Ten Rounds would have been a better choice. Already plenty of ten round bolt action mags in Canada, including the Existing AIA mags.
I am not saying we should not fight this, just saying its not gonna be easy and ten rounds would have been quite a bit easier to get here.

Go figure .. i also had a feeling this would happen as soon as 20 rounds and m14 came into light , i can see a long term of litigation with this BS as the RCMP cant have honest , legal owners walking around with 20 round magazines thats just farrrr tooo dangerouss..

However can you blame them ? theyre not stupid enough to know what was planned with these magazines from the start.

If this goes to court, nothing is going to happen for a while. Maybe quite a while.
Did any of the importers - looks as if there is more than one - discuss this with the powers that be, before having the magazines made? Were DFAIT IICs issued for these?
