Dude i don't usually say a lot or respond to a lot but.........that was TOO F_ _ _ _ _ funny i think i may stop laughing sometime tommorrow or maybe the day after.....

Things, including vocabulary are rarely as simple as you explain it in your meaning of the word ignorant...perhaps you should research the term "Connotative and Denotative Vocabulary"

Nothing like making a spectacular entrance.

To some, "Grumpy Old men" is a movie. To me, it is either a staff meeting or an hour reading some of the stuff that passes through here. FWIW, don't get jaded and don't get drawn into arguments for no reason.

Jagger, the internet allows people anonymity to say things they wouldn't dream of saying to a person's face. It brings out the tough guys, the trolls and the wannabe's. It's like that here on CGN, and on just about every other forum: guns, cars, whatever...

However, once you wade through the BS, there's more knowledge packed into these pages than you'd glean in 20 lifetimes of shooting, across all disciplines. There's also a lot of political knowledge here, because this site has become the de facto war-room for the "well-organized Canadian firearms lobby" (whoever they are). Familiarize yourself with the activities of the gun-grabbers, and the issues we face as shooters trying to preserve a Canadian way of life. Remember that this site is monitored by our antagonists, so don't post stupid crap.

My other advice to you is to use the search function before starting a thread that has been re-hashed over and over again, (bear defense, Lee-Enfield head-spacing, or storage requirements come to mind) avoid coming across as a Mall Ninja, read the stickies, read newbie faq's, and when you post, do your best to post in the correct forum or sub-forum. This keeps the mods, especially Stormbringer and John Y Canuck, very happy.

Oh, and you may need to grow a thicker skin... although your post suggests to me that you have no problem being assertive.

There is this thing called the internet, and even better, Google.

If you are to lazy or dumb to use it I have no sympathy for you, and you will be flamed for asking questions easily answered with a 2 minute Google search!

Other than that It is just simply more fun to let loose on the weekly bear defence threads. LOL

#1 the search engine on this site is for some crazy reason set to 1 week. Always change the search to a minimum of 6 months.

#2 Anti's and unfrendies have accounts on this site to try and glean information they are to lazy to find out themselves. No it is not tin hat paranoid it happens.

#3 you are dealing with some highly intelligent people who are so jaded at this point they don't really care for you

#4 The general discussion type pages eg: Articles, polls, Discussions and general firearms threads are not a place to start spouting off about how little you know. This is the shark tank, proving yourself is the first part. Learning things is paramount.
Read, learn and keep your ignorant (no idea) threads to other forums.

#5 read more post less. Obviously I did not follow this doctrine but I have had my ass handed to me more times than I care to count. I have never cried and those that do should remove themselves to a different site.

#6 This is one of the pro gun sites and is the biggest. This is for real, not sh!ts and giggles. We are truly playing serious politics that affect millions of people. It is easy to get in and not realize what you are playing with. This is real life so don't fu#k around in the serious threads. We are calling out MP's, police chiefs and NGO's.

Think about what you are playing in before you get all winy, no one gives a crap about you and this is the real deal

Well said. I got my ass handed to me too, however i learned alot in the process as well. Sometimes during the insults they throw alot of great information at you.

Thanks for the replies guys. I do realize most people here don't act like that and at my age I have learned to ignore people who are like that. It's just a sad thing to see.
 
The more post they have the more they know and the better human being they are... though not always. but it seems that may people seem to have a sence of entitlement on this site watch for claybuster and win64 in the black and green shotgun thread. they are fudds through and through and like to stir up trouble lol. I dare you to post a "backpaker" in the hunting and sporting shotgun forum.... it's funny to watch.
 
Just learn to ignore those people or just outsmart them, you will also find that keeping your mouth shut and go to bed instead of replying will keep you out of trouble - and what I say is also true for the untouchables.

Most are good guys though.

Seriously, what has been said here I pretty well agree with.

As for doing a Search before posting a question, I find that when I have trouble I am demonstrating to myself that I can also be a Stupid Old Fool.

Welcome and we do try to be helpful. I have been dinged a few times (and rightly so) and I know that some of my gaffes have also been ignored.
