shotshell issues

From a guy that won't pay 200 for a super x1 barrel I am not suprised.:p
They have been 10 cents a hull here since I can remember for compression formed.
Think that is high how about 25 cents now each for a 28ga old AA they were always 15 and this will blow your socks off 75-100 for a 16ga AA compression formed.

Will pay more than that for a 30" IM Trap barrel. I found one in the States but at $350 it's to rich for my blood.

Oh my God what have I does to make you speachless:D

Just woke up my self in the old lazy boy. Mrs is gone, girls are with boy friends, MMMMMMM might be a night to watch some hockey and sip some rum.:D
Now you didnot answer my question in the other post.
Do you remember shooting the black AA trap loads and paper federal champions. My money says you do??s Those black ones were hot, we thought the red lasted 6 reloads and the black 12:D

Sorry I missed that part. I was just so glad I did not slip with the knife and I was ticked that I went through that ordeal with photo bucket just to find you had it covered. Yes. I do remember the black AAs. They were the first AA Handicap load IIRC. I still see them around. I think winchester realized that too much of a good thing was not good for them and after that down graded their plastic. Federal Paper? The best smell in the world. Top Gun comes close. IIRC and this will really date me, I think Canuck Paper smelled good as well and the green CIL Maxum was one of the best all round lioads.

In the fall I sometimes sell off a few hulls. Hunters are still willing to pay .10 so Russells and now WSS are usually willing to pay .06 at the peak of the season.

Don't want to make anyone jealous, but there were about a box of black ones in two big containers of old AA hulls I recently bought:D along with 5000 F1 wads and a bunch of other stuff, including primers and a MEC 650 and a separate resizer. I can really go to town with the reloads now...one crank, one shell! The black ones load beautifully, by the way. CR Maxim shells were red out my way. Didn't know there were green ones or maybe my memory is faulty. My main dream as a kid though was Imperials. I was convinced the Imperials gave more bang for the buck and that Canucks were very weak...:). Have to admit too, that I liked how they all smelled, including the Canucks. Glad to know I wasn't the only guy that sniffed shells after firing them...I'm sure it didn't hurt me at all  Fred

Fred is correct and his memory is not faulty. Maxums hulls were red. Imperial Boxes were yellow and purple, Canuck boxes were yellow and red and Maxums were yellow and green. I always thought that the more brass, the better. I also thought that whiz bang was the most powerful .22 ammo ever.

Now Fred , Covey and I didnot even ask since we knew you would still have the black AA's. :D I still have my 650 also and resizer.Lots of hours on it. Moved up to a 9000g a few years back. Little quicker yes but much easier to make a mess with.
I think that may be what is wrong with us we sniffed too many imperials:cool:

Oh, the smell of those old Imperials!! That's all my Dad ever used in his old Tobin. I still have his Tobin, and I might be able to scare up a few old paper Imperials. I'm going to take the Tobin out this spring and let a paper off, just so I can keep the hull in my desk drawer and have a whiff once in a while. It will remind my of my days as the "dog" when I would go chicken hunting with Dad.:p

If you could buy those imperials at CT these days I bet they would be a lot more than 11.99 a box.I can remember my great uncle giveing me old imperial shells in exchage for ducks when I was a young lad.3 shells for a duck and he would always say young fella thats two more shells than it should have taken to get that bird.old timers :D

Do you have any Gevelot in that pile?[/QUOTE]
Not in that bag Covey. That is a bag of all split hulls that we either reload or tried to reload. I keep it for reference to keep track of when the manufacturers change their designs
I would have to look hard but have some Gevelot hulls here somewhere and some of the orange and white boxes. I remember having the red hulls with skeet on them, some high brass silver with super ??X on them.
I sold off all of my rare shotgun shell boxes on e-bay about 7 years ago and pretty sure some of these boxes went also. I never had any of the aluminium shells but know a guy with a can of them. Those you can see the pellets on the top of the shells and pretty cool.

Sellier and Bellot. I seem to remember them. The older ones did not have a very a endearing smell. Actually about the worst I ever smelled. I never checked what kinds of wads they had, but the older shooters of the day said the fibre wads were made out of compressed horse hair or something similar.

The Sellier& Belliot that I remember had a clear plastic shot cap with a rolled crimp.and yes some kind of fibre wad that would come apart and blow back in your face if you fired them into a stiff wind.got face full of that crap more than once while duck hunting.
