"full auto" kit.

The law is specific. No devices that operate the trigger. I don't think we should be interpreting anything in their favor.

If it is not "operating the trigger" as per the law, then it should be good to go.
Precisely. The RCMP may not like it but the Slidefire stock does not fall within the definition of a prohibited device. It in no way operates the trigger.

I think the cost of the stock, coupled with the fact that ARs are range-only and most ranges prohibit bump/rapid fire, and a ten-round max capacity, puts this device low on their list of priorities.

Last time I asked Slidefire ( a week ago ) they said they needed to apply the export permit in order to ship to Canada. So no auto kit in Canada for now.

Interesting.

A few options to overcome the mag capacity obstacle; I assume this would function fine on a rimfire AR as well? if so, mag capacity is unlimited.

At the beginning of the video, Is that an AR or variant thereof? I can't really tell but it looks like it. What's with the linked/belted ammo? Is that some sort of conversion? Because, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, wouldn't that not qualify as a cartridge magazine, and therefore be limitless in capacity as well?

Just sayin'. This is all assuming you can get another one of these stocks into the country.

Belts for centrefire (maybe rimfire too, don't know) are unlimited if designed before 1945, or some such, which is why you can put a 250-round belt on a M1919.

Anything post-war is limited.

I may be wrong in the specifics, but bottom-line, a modern belt is limited.

Interesting - they shipped mine; perhaps someone has since told them they shouldn't!

I'm saying they could prohib the SA to prevent FA because of the uncontrolled breaking of the "Spirit of the Law" regarding who uses full auto and who doesn't.

I deal regularly with the courts as a part of my job, and I can tell you with some confidence that it is the LETTER of the law we need to obey, not the SPIRIT... that being said, I could easily see CBSA and CFC arranging not to allow any to pass through Customs, and directing the police to seize any that they happen to catch people using... for public safety... despite the fact that they are technically legal.

I don;t think a .22 would work - not enough recoil, but I could be mistaken.

With that in mind, I wonder if it will even work with an AR with an effective brake? The AR I sold recently had a good brake and very little recoil recoil; I hadn't thought of that...

Agree. It is the the letter of the law.

The board is flush with trolls. No reason at least one of them wouldn't be a snitch/do-gooder.

It looks like a fun little toy, but that's about it... I've fired enough FA that I've kinda had my fill of it... plus I have control issues... and that means I prefer the "control" I have when shooting semi-auto...:)

I think I would prefer semi-auto (or the option to switch on the full auto if i wanted), but I have never fired full auto. I bought one of those Zoraki 925 blank pistols and they sure are a lot of fun. Hopefully I'll get my chance to try full auto one day.

 I wasn't calling you anything. Matter of fact, I forgot you were even here. But apparently the thread has morphed into a discussion about you! I'll leave now because I am no longer interested in the new topic.:wave:Bye.
