Robarms XCR FAQ post

Actually the existing XCR is an XCR-L = Light they are available in 223/5.56/6.8SPC/7.62X39 the larger XCR-M in 308 Win is nearing production and we are told it will be released soon.

In other words all XCR-L's in Canada are called Light...

I have a question for the xcr guys out there. I was look into an xcr when i came accross and xcr light. Is this xcr with a lighter barrel, lighter overall? If it is lighter, what is the weight.

thanks

XCRL- is for all 5.56/223., 6.8,7.62x39
XCRM- is for 7.62x51
Only the heavy barrel (diameter) version is for canadian market in 5.56/223. The U.S has a thin barrel, but why would you want that? If that is what you are reffering to?.
What is going to be XCRH??? .50 beowulf? .50BMG?:D

I also took the gun out for the first time today, and had four stove pipes in about one hundred rounds. Is this normal for the "break in"? I also had my gas setting on pos. 4. The gun was well oiled as well.

I have put about 100 reloads thru mine by now. No failures at all. None. Nada. Zip. Including a cpl of ten round mags as fast as i could let em go. Prrrfect.

I had 3 or 4 too, but they should go away soon. I didn't get any more after about 300 rounds, now shoot on gas setting 2 or 1 all the time, reloads too, and it shoots great, 1.5" easy.

I hope you are right sir, other then that I hope it does not turn out to be a $2500 paper weight.lol. This sunday I will run another couple hundred through her and see how she goes.

too much or too heavy of lube may slow the bolt down in this cold weather, that might cause an issue. mines been running on #2 since day one and the only problems ive ever had were bob.s from me not securing the mag all the way home. I dont know why I waited so many rounds but its now on #1, no issues still, even dumping mags fast as I can, and thats pretty efing fast.

I was running alot of lube, but would not say excessive. I heard that for the break in it was supposed to be well lubricated.

I have been lucky 400 factory rounds on setting 4 and zero problems.

Thad, you may want to turn down the gas setting on your gun as you have completed the 200 round break in period for your gun. I believe that you can damage your buffer by running your gas setting too high.

On page 16 of the manual it states: "The "4" setting is the highest setting. It allows the largest amount of gas to impinge upon the Piston. It should be used when breaking in the Rifle. It may take as many as 200 rounds for the Rifle to be broken in. It is suggested that a higher pressure ammo, such as American Eagle, be used during this period. After the break in, the Rifle should cycle most brands of ammunition reliably."

It was briefly mentioned earlier in the thread, but I would like to get clarification. Are people using 6.8 ammo in .223 Lar-15 mags??

Can anyone comment on how your zero was effected when switching barrels from .223 to 7.62?

I realize it's different ammo, and it has a different trajectory etc, but did you need to start from scratch each time? Was it close enough that you'd bring the extra barrel to the range and shoot both calibers in one session?

Just curious..

EDIT:

To the comments earlier about ordering directly from C-Products. I did ordera couple of .233 5/30 mags. But they will only hold 3 x 7.62 rounds. C-Products doesnt have a 5/20 or 5/30 7.72 mag yet.

I can only compare 223 - 6.8spc point of impact was off 1 - 1 1/2" @ 100 yards and yes it was close enough but I would sight in as soon as I changed barrels. Actually it was off just enough for me to order/buy the components to have two complete uppers I now just switch over uppers and zero is always the same.

:D

Not in Canada but there is a guy that posted a thread here that had his barrel shortened it had to be reclassified as restricted.

Ya I understand it would follow under restricted, I just wasn't sure if it is allowed to be shortened since it is not offered in a smaller size. Thanks

Two questions:

1. Is the NEA stock adapter the only one available for the XCR?

2. What mag options are available for the XCR in 6.8?

Thank you.

Dlask makes an adapter for the XCR as well and when it comes to mags the choices are a 5 or a 20 lanced to 5 both by C-Product.
