Whent for my PAL and RPAL on the weekend of Feb 6th,
then waited till 12th of March for the results.
Express post said it was revived on the 17 of March.
I checked it this morning and it still had not been put in
Just checked it this afternoon and it is final in

As you can see, the date it was signed for is the date it began processing.
By my calculations it should be complete by the 14th of April.

Here's the timeline-
Feb 20 - Finished RPAL course
Feb 24 - Sent Application Registered Mail
Feb 28 - Canada post lists it as "Out for delivery"
March 10 - Showed online that it was processing and that it was recieved Feb 28.
March 16 - They called my references and me, but didn't leave a message for me.
March 21 - I called them to see what was up. Did interview over the phone.
March 28 1:09pm- Application shows approved online (28 calendar days after recieved)
March 28 1:10pm- Called Miramachi to get my # and they told me no way, not a chance.
March 28 1:11pm- Called back Miramachi and asked to be transferred to the BC office.
March 28 1:21pm (after 10 min on hold) They gave me my RPAL number over the phone.

Everyone I dealt with was great. 28 days from delivered to approved for a RPAL!

The lady (in BC) also told me some things that I wasn't aware of regarding the ATT. I was informed that it is a blanket ATT for you to transport any restricted firearm that you own. You can apply for it as soon as you get your RPAL liscence. You just need to prove that you are a member of a registerd gun club. It will save you lots of time when you go to the gun store to get that handgun if you already have an ATT in place.

Thanks for this great thread on this great site.

So again.. The question is, "When does the clock start counting?". I'm pretty sure they don't start counting until its processed, not when its received/signed for.

Actually Calalta.. I have read through all the posts and seen it both ways.
You are the only one that has.

I'm willing to bet that when the CFC is busy the dates don't match. Although we really have no idea when they are busy or not.

Are you serious? You have no idea when they are busy but you are willing to argue conclusions based on your speculation?
If you read every post in the thread you should have a good idea of when they are busy, at the start of hunting season and around Christmas.

I didn't invent the information I put in the original post, I spent some time learning how the process works. One unfortunate fact is that the process isn't consistent. That bothers some applicants, others just call back and talk to someone else.
Some people have read the advice and ignored it, and some didn't believe it despite the numerous posts showing it has worked for many.
Some people need to have specific reassurance as to what they should do, and others don't even bother to read the original post. I don't bother with queries like that anymore, the information is there, they can use it or not.
More than once I thought the CFC might change their practice if too many people took advantage, but so far that has not happened.
Then there are the posters that want the original post amended to reflect their personal experience. If that person is willing to call back then they can often get it handled correctly.

Hhmm seems like someone is touchy.

I wasn't trying to argue anything, but simply trying to keep the information in this post current. My suggestion was simply a hypothesis.

Maybe by having people post the details of their shipping, tracking and website data we can figure out which way works best currently.

Sorry I guess I misunderstood the meaning of the word "Forum".

lol, they gave EVERYONE else there pal over the phone, they didn't give me mine.

they basically said come in person show ID get your #, until i do that i can't have it.

while other people called and got it..

Day 28 today.

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Awesome. I actually didn't expect it to be approved at 6:30 in the morning.

PAL to RPAL application
Recieved date on website: Mar.1, 2011
Approved date: Mar.29, 2011 (would have been earlier if I had called the SK CFO a few days earlier)

Asked for my number over the phone (not knowing that the number did not change from PAL to RPAL) and got a nice and stern lecture on how I can't purchase a firearm before I have the license in hand.

I hear you KC1337....I sent mine registered--they received it last Thursday and every day in the morning I attempt the call of confirmation. LOL hasn't gotten me anywhere so far but be persistent.

I just got a call today for my short PAL/RPAL interview. They told me they are gonna contact my references now. How many more days can i expect till im approved?
