Very interesting... I thought with the chinese, you have to submit a minimum order, and then they produce? Like can am has them manufactured specifically for themselves. While yes, the tavor they just order and sell as they need. Either way, i think a semi auto mg could be done economically. The Tavor is Israeli made, they imported and sold a civilian legal version of it.
IIRC They had a pre-order for it, so if they only had one pre-order they probably wouldn't of imported it.
The Dominion Arms shotguns are Chinese made, Canada Ammo is not manufacturing them, they are importing them the same as the tavor. Pretty obvious they'll sell fast.
AFAIK
The Chinese cannot manufacture what they don't have the tooling(and blueprints) for. 870 type shotguns, they do. Type 97s, they do. SKS And AK47s, they do.
And apparently, they have the machining for M1 Carbines?? I read that somewhere on the forum.
Blueprints are easy... But tooling would be a major investment. Im guessing can am is limited to what the chinese already have regarding tooling? I'd like to know just what the chinese can produce
I wouldn't mind a semi auto Type 67
If i could get course credits for such a project, i'd prototype for free. Canam is vancouver based right? I could commute from campus
