Now now, we never said to buy MORE Chinese stuff.... I always prefer Canadian made, then American, or at least Euro :)

However, its just to show that not ALL their stuff is crap. I mean, seeing as that large a percentage of your stuff is chinese made/has chinese components, and it functions day in/day out, states that some of their products must be made properly.

As for the apple products argument made above...I think apple would insist on MUCH stricter quality control than some fly-by-night operation!
 
This thread is now officially a discussion about the quality of Chinese products. This is getting ridiculous.

Looks like a cool rifle. Someone take the plunge and let us know how she runs!!
 
What interests me is that they opted for the same round as their assault rifles, making this more of a DMR like the SPRs. Interesting that they didn't see a need to design it to take the 7.62x54R
 
FYI:

Anyone who has been in any sort of manufacturing knows that the tags "made in canada" or "made in the usa" are a farce.

90% of the PARTS came from China, were assembled here, and then labeled MADE IN CANADA.

So all these folks thinking they are something special calling their made in the usa/japan televisions better than the ones saying made in china are fooling only themselves. The parts STILL COME FROM CHINA.

A student who came through my wifes agency took my old boss on his business trip to china on a tour. He owns a company in china that supplies 90% OF THE WORLDS power bars. Yes 90%. So get this, the ones that cost $1 at the loonie store are MADE IN CHINA, probably at one of his factories. The fancy ones that cost $20 and say made in the USA, THOSE PARTS CAME FROM ONE OF HIS FACTORIES IN CHINA TOO. Just higher quality parts, but from the SAME FACTORIES, shipped out just so a company can assemble it and slap on a sitcker that says made in the USA.

Don't fool yourselves gents.

You ask for cheap, you get cheap. You want quality, they will make you quality. In the end 90% of it is all from China regardless.

Even if this is true, I would rather pay the extra money and give a fellow North American a job assembling the parts. But things such as guns are made here. Maybe not all the small parts but all the machining is done here. If you want to export all our wealth to some third world #### hole, go for it. I would like to see my money going to Canadians or Americans and, when there is no other choice, Europeans.

I was pretty sure that they were the manufacturer of most of the apple products except the touch screen for the Ipads and iPhones (made in japan) foxxcon was they plant that had all the suicides and apple had to step in and pay for compensation and force the plant to up it's wages a bit.

But this is just what I remember from the article

I was actually talking about Norinco being an exporter rather than a manufacturer.

Actually, it was optimized for heavier bullets and hotter loads. It *CAN* fire the rounds intended for their assault rifles, but it won't perform as well.

Not that this matters to us... We're getting the 5.56x45 version.

Thanks again for bringing these in, btw. When can we expect some more pictures or maybe some footage?
 
Original caliber used by this sniper is the same as Chinese 95 series weapon, including T95 assault rifle (aka T97 in Canada), T95 short barrel assault rifle, and T95 machine gun. However, machine gun uses heavier bullet although it has the same caliber of 5.8 mm as others. The original version of this sniper is supposed to use 5.8mm heavy cartridge, the one used by the machine gun. I am wondering if there is heavier version of 5.56MM ammo?

As shown by picture above, left bullet is regular one which has lead core and is short; the right one is the heavier version which has steel core and longer.
 
I had an opportunity to handle one of these rifles today, and I was very impressed. It appears very well made with copious amounts of metal, and well fitted polymers. The action was smooth, and cycled without any "grittyness". The grip is nicely sized and fit my hand very well... and the trigger - although there was a little take-up, it was very soft. The trigger is superior to the Tavor, and is on par with the RFB - actually probably a little nicer at the breaking point than the RFB. If I had an extra $3k kicking around I'd probably grab one... Damn you mortgage and grocery bills...!!!

Good Work to Tactical Imports for bringing them in... Now if I only had $15k for that lynx.... hmmmmm.... what's a kidney worth nowdays??? ;-)

It must be some scope, since it appears to be worth 2,000.00 . Aside from that, I just can't spend 30G on a Hyundai, and 3G on a Norinco is just wrong. It might be reasonably good quality but just wrong considdering the other options. That's all.
