Shorten PAL Approval Times

courses and tested may 28/29
June 3/2011 Express mail....
Showed up on website June 22
July 3rd results arrived.
faxed in test July 3rd
Did tele interview July 5th
references called july 6th
July 7th - license has been issued and should arrive in 2 weeks.

License finally shows as issued July 7.
If i call and get my license number will i be able to start the transfer of a private restricted purchase? Or do i have to wait for the license to arrive before i can start a transfer?

Also for those interested, my of my references told me one of their questions was along the lines of: "has this person ever used weapons in a terrorist attack?"

I would say not, Calalta.

a) It's a monument to the help you have provided
b) there are still many people who have not read it or even know of it.
c) we (some of us) refer the people from b) to a)

Had my application fedex'ed out during the postal strike (June 23) it was received June 27 but missing information (test results stamped by CFO). I just got the results back from the CFO last night so I will be calling them today when they open and then faxing it in.

a) Your 28 days began on June 27.
b) Why wait to fax? fax them in (even in the middle of the night) then call them first thing.
 
Got it in the mail last night and don't have a fax at home. Called to confirm fax number and see if they needed any other info with it (had to wait 20min for them to open).

Going to call at lunch to make sure they got it.

Didn't mean to sound ........... well, "mean".
I saw the time you posted after I hit "submit".

But the general idea (for anybody else who reads this) is that the order of sending, submitting, faxing, calling in does not have to be strictly observed chronologically.

on the site I get the message aying my RPAL has been issued but they have yet to bill me... is this normal or does it mean they havent actually printed it yet??

This does not sound normal. My VISA was charged the same day that my application was available on their web site.
 
I'm getting my bills and some A&W coupons at the speed of light but still not a sign of the firearms license in the mail. Neither the Firearms centre or the BC CFO office will tell me my pal# over the phone. Its frustrating with something bought on the EE taking up real estate in the sellers safe awaiting a little plastic card with numbers on it they already know.

ffolkes. I know your pain. My license was issued 3 or 4 weeks ago. If it is any conciliation, I received mine today so it should be soon for you. I think someone else in the posts below indicated that they received theirs this week as well. Wanted to pass it along that they are coming.

any opinions? it was last friday I got the approved message on their site, really dont want to waste a few more weeks if there is a problem
