Robarms XCR FAQ post

both commercial and mil spec tubes uses the same thread.

I was under the impression that the two were slightly different, and the commercial threads were "rounded" as opposed to the mil-spec. Thank you for the info though, I will go mil-spec.

Cheers.

Has anyone had trouble with prvi partisan primers (blue box) ammo in their xcr?
I was at the range yesterday trying my mismatched bunch of ammo, and upon picking my brass, noticed seriously bulged primers in the prvi ammo.
I was running american eagle "tactical", winchester "bulk" varmint, standard american eagle and remington umc with no problems or damage to the primers. Should I be wary of the firing pin or just avoid the PPU?

Match Barrels

Anyone know who was installing the Match Barrels on the xcr???. I remember reading it on here, but can't seem to find it:mad: Wondering how the build went and if I should try it.

It was Alberta Tactical but they have now posted that this project is on hold...

I would go for a s/s 6mmX45 if they decide to get back into it...

looking for XCR 5.56 5/30 rnd mags and colapsable stock

Just purchased an XCR in 5.56 about two weeks ago. I got it for 2200 + 750 with a 6.8spc caliber convert from a local store.
Put about 200 rnds of 5.56 thru it without any issues. I would like to upgrade the following;
-collabsible stock
-get 5/30 rnd mags for it
-eotech sight

Does anyone here know where to get a stock and mags???
Thanks in advance,

You can get pmags from member Blaxsun by p.m (thats where I got mine). Or lar15 mags from Questar. The stock adapter and stock from any supporting dealer at the top of the page (one shot, wolverine etc.). I think wolverine has lar 15 for the 6.8 that hold 10rnds..Cheers and enjoy.

Hey everyone I was wondering if anybody knows if a Guislle SSA trigger would fit and work in my XCR-L

Any feedback would be great

No, the XCR trigger is completely different than the AR trigger. The XCR has a enhanced trigger coming standard for the last 2-3 years. If you have an earlier XCR, you can get the enhanced from Wolverine. If not, your only improvement would be with a riflesmith.

I have run through about 400 rounds through my XCR-L in .223 and my receiver buffer is FUBAR already. I have now turned down the valve to setting 1 but am not going to shoot it anymore until I get a couple of replacements buffers. Do these damn things go often? If so where is the best place to get them. I bought my XCR from Wanstalls and since they are so...... busy and the there seems to be only one distributor out here I thought I would look for some more information here. Been waiting 2 weeks now for a replacement already and am getting a bit pissed at not having the use of my gun. Which at this point is not even a month old. Does anyone maybe even have an extra to sell? (sorry for asking that here!:HR:)
I did read through the 1st 20 pages of posts here and got tired of looking for this topic, sorry if it was answered in the pages after that.

Yes, standard AR thread (1/2x28tpi)

Cadcam

Wolverine has stock on buffers. They will go if you have it on gas setting 4 with hot ammo thats for sure.

WOW looking at all of the spent shotgun hulls on the ground I'm thinking you are up Sylvester Rd...

Not saying you leave your hulls just saying it is Totally pathetic how so many do...

Cadcam email Wolverine Supplies they are the Robinson Arm's importer, they should have the parts on hand to solve your problem. However buffer shouldn't self destruct after only 400 rounds of .223.

I've put several thousand down my XCR and my buffer looks like its brand new.

So... no they shouldn't go that quick.

Re: Slings: Don't mount a one point to the loop on the factory stock. It will wear funny. The best way is to mount one of the magpul RSA on the top rail just in front of the irons.

Thanks I'll contact them if Wanstalls can't come through for me quickly.

That's the place, I know what a mess. Not sure why people can't take their #### home with them, they packed it in, then pack it out! Last time out I saw someone was shooting glass, now there is glass shards all over in the bush so be careful climbing around in there placing targets.

Thanks, not sure why mine deteriorated so quickly? Got a jamb at 400 rounds and dug out a piece of rubber. Opened the rifle up and found the buffer with missing chunks! Sucks
I've dialed it down to setting 1 now and still ejects just fine. I'll see how it works when I get a new buffer and can realy test it. Not comfortable shooting with only 3/4 of a buffer sitting there.

I machined a special mount out of 7075 T6 for my tac sling and screwed it to the factory stock in the existing hole. Then mounted a stock sling mount to it and the other end to a Pic mount up front. Works fine for what I use it for so far.

Thanks for the heads up but I am a member of a couple gun clubs so I never shoot there actually hardly ever go in there anymore when I shoot in the bush I am usually up the Coquihalla Hwy/Fraser Canyon or just before the Hope Slide hill...

Was having trouble with the safety not working last time out so took it apart last night while cleaning my Savage 110 BA. Found the trigger mechanism was broken where it contacts the ambi-safety pin. Trigger still functions but safely will not hold it back when engaged. Tried to find a parts list for this little beast to accurately order the proper component but cannot find one. Has anyone here found such a diagram and parts list. By the looks of the internals of the trigger mechanism the small cast aluminum part that broke off flipped up into the action and was sent back into the receiver buffer ripping it. Receiver buffer is mostly still there but not horse shoe shaped anymore. The only thing I found when the gun jammed was the rubber from the buffer and not the aluminum chunk from the trigger. Upon very close inspection I can see where the aluminum part must have hit by the stock mount screw and buffer. Oh well, boys at Wanstalls will look after me I'm sure and I'll be back shooting the little bastard in no time. Good to know why the receiver buffer disintegrated in such a short period of time. Once I have this thing apart I am going to measure it, image record the internals, and draw up the trigger. I am then planning to machine one up with a custom design, out of T6 7075 billet to match the trigger I've got on my Nighthawk Custom GRP. Comments or anyone wanting one? Not sure when I'll get it done, most likely be this winter. (and no I will not be sharing any part information on line to piss off the boys at Robinsons Arms, I'm sure this thing is copyrighted)

I did the same thing because I had the gas set way too high.
I run mine on setting 1 with American Eagle ammo.
I glued a piece of rubber where the recoil buffer was and it worked fine until my 3 spares came.
The buffers should last a long time, as long as you have the gas set properly.
Once these rifles are broken in they run slick and easy, and the horror stories of pieces flying out are recoil buffers flying apart.
One thing I did was to file the burr that forms on the bolt carrier off, and now she's really smooth.
These XCRs rock, you just have to run them right.
