I'd recommend:
For pump, 590A1 SPX if you like ghost sights (which I do)
For Semi 930 Tactical, has a bead on the front (or an SPX if you can find one, extremely rare)
I find Remington lately is not on par with the Remington of old. I have a friend who recently purchased a new 870 and there are several quality control issues with it.
My other friend has an 870 from the late 90's and it's glass on glass smooth. NOTHING like the newer ones. If you are going the 870 route, thoroughly inspect the firearm front to back and perform at least field strip and inspect the internals. If anything looks sketchy, walk away.
For budget minded semis, if you see a Beretta 1201FP for sale under $800. Get it. It's nearly identical to a Benelli M1Super 90 (same gas system, same action) but without the $2000 pricetag.
I really want a 1201FP, but either I am not fast enough, or just the budget timing vs. availability doesn't align for me.
