Stocks for M14 rifles ...

From M14 Doc's post Nightforce

How much are the CQB stocks running, that is exactly what I want. Thanks.

Shawn

yer correct :D , it's a night force but i can't find the build sheet right now to tell you which model/magnification..... probably one of my favorite optics I have mounted on an m14 so far and is on my must have list.

the Ingram Custom Rifleworks M14S-CQB starts at 549.00 and comes with your choice of permanently fastened bipod rail or stud, or full length (12") milspec picatinny rail under the stock. I got a smokin deal on a pile of commercial 6 position buttstocks and Hogue AR grips so while i have supply, the full package as shown with buttstock and grip (no rifle :D no handguard) is 619.00 plus applicable shipping taxes ect.
we are currently building up an inventory before we launch the new website for folks to order online. If you MUST have one now..... send me a p.m. , I have a longggg list of pre orders.
some might feel 619.00 is a bit much to pay..... have a look at viron, mcmillan, mccann industries, vltor pricing and remember all must be imported thru a liscenced importer.... except the M14S-CQB, it's made here in the B.C. interior ;) This stock is a solid, one piece laminate of carbon fiber and fiberglass. No seams , joins, no two halves bonded together ect. Our process delivers an extrememly solid, one piece stock with a 6061 T6 aluminum buffer tube adaptor and grip mount, borrowing thier dimensions from the AR15 platform, imbedded in the stock at the beginning of it's lamination process. These stocks are all hand made from beginning to end, no milling machines or injection equipment.

Thanks, I will be getting in touch with in the near future.

I really wanted a voltor, but with the hassle of getting one and the cracking issue I am going to go with the M14Doctor one for sure. Plus it is hand made in Canada +1,000,000

One more question. What is the weight with the short rail and the long rail?

Thanks

Shawn

I'll dig up all my notes and post the weights up in a bit.

right now, all my stocks are introductory priced starting at 549.00.
The M14SE2 new manufacture model will be a tough one to order at the moment but as I ramp things up , lead time will get somewhat shorter.
I've been very quiet about my stock dealings off CGN and some developements as of today are going to really change things. Our friends south of the border have found out about me and my stocks and holy crap batman....... talk about off the hook demand.
The M14SE2 is in final phase, all those made before were USGI stock mods. It will be the third model in the line up and I've spent the past 3 months perfecting the fixtures and laminating process as each stock model has it's own proprietory techniques to end up with the finished product.
For now, the first two m14SE2 stocks coming off the line will be going to SUB MOA and Wildphil. I have immediate need of two employees and will be going ahead with seeking the right folks to join my team. With the interest coming from the states....... this is gonna get real interesting real fast.

These aren't cookie cutter stocks and not easily mass produced. Every stock is a hand made custom product. We may be looking at a lead time of 3 months for stock orders once your order is placed. I've done my research by calling each company......In the U.S. folks who deal with custom stock makers face the following , accepted, lead times, Vltor modstock, currently a 2 month lead time for select fire models, 3 months for non select fire models....... fMcmillan Rifle Stocks.... flat out 3 month lead time from time of placing the order, McCann Industries Sopmod...... no lead time advertised, they call you when it's ready and it also takes months.

So my attempts to build up a big inventory and then start selling product en masse..... may have been the wrong way to go when i look at the way the big names in custom M14 stocks (Mcmillan mainly) conduct business. Folks here in Canada want it now...... folks in the states are perfectly fine with lead times as quoted above.
anyhow..... I will make an announcement when the M14SE2 stocks are ready for ordering. If you want to order one now....or any of my stocks for that matter and you can accept a 3 month lead time type of deal..... feel free to email me

Say Thomas - when you planning to open up your 'smithing services again? Do you have the Navy brake in stock or do we have to provide our own?

Thanks

I'm in a real rock and a hard place. Over the past 3 years you folks have watched me doing clinics, adding my two cents in the forums, building a reputation and a product of quality and truning out rifle work that most folks seem very happy with. Many folks have suffered delays and those pesky "anyone seen the doc?" threads would pop up and my name would be mud for a bit  , but for the most part, I remain swamped LOL

Now I face an ever growing demand for both of my talents, stock making and custom or repair work to m1a and m14 type rifles. It's at the point where i must chose one to put 110% into as BOTH are suffering with 50% dedicated to each. Right now I'm attempting to get canada post to cover two lost stocks to quebec , wildphiil and JFB have been waiting a real lon time for me to settle this and get them replacements. which by the way guys, are on thier way, finally.
So...... rifle bench must remain closed for the time being unless you are someone who has booked for an LRB build. These are going to be photo documneted at every step.... I'm kinda excited.
I will be hiring two people for my stock department. These folks will have to be living in the area i am in. I moved this business to a "depressed" community that I have some life long ties to in an effort to build a business that will one day employ several folks from my community. And cuz we all rednecks up here LOL I fit in well :D

I do plan to return to the bench at some point but need to train a crew of folks to get this stock making up to speed. If you need a refferal, I am happy to recommend Dlask Arms for barrel shortening and thier dovetail gas lock front sight, they do not do service work on the rifles, just the barrels, sight, flash hider/brake, usgi spec RWB oprods.
For full service M1a/m14 work.... I don't have experience dealing with them myself, but i hear great thing about the crew at Elwood Epps and there was a fellow associated with P&D Enterprise, who's work i've handled and it was also top shelf.
I kinda rambled there...... so back to the thread :D :D

Here is my stock. It was made by Bob Fortier. He build customs stocks and posts on CGN as well as Extreme Precision. He did a build thread on my stock which can be viewed here:

http://extreme-precision.forum-2007.com/t17402-crosse-de-m305-en-noyer-avec-photo-finale

The design started from a Mcmillan design but was then modified to have a better sight line with a scope. I'm really impressed with Bob's work and highly recommend him. He was A+ to deal with all the way.

SKULLBOY, how are you doing? What would you charge me for a paintjob like this one on the old stock/handguard you sent me all painted white long ago as it's just sitting collecting dust?

Skullboy is AWESOME!

I have one I bought from Oldsmobiler. He dropped it off to you to have it painted in CAPAT for me just like this. I love my stock and the TW CADPAT nicely compliments the M14. If you are up to doing a Viet Nam era tigerstripe pattern send me a PM; I remember things not being 100% last time we chatted a LONG time ago resulting in the hiatus from your stock work. I have a spare USGI stock I plan on using for my newly returned shorty that I would love for you to do for me. No panic no set timeline... just let me know.

M14 stock refinishing

I've aquired a Norinco chu wood stock and I'm thinking of refinishing it. I have a Savage Mark II TR and it has a nice textured spatter type finish on it. i was thinking of doing something like that. anyone experienced using the spray can "stone finish" paint. its almost like the SOCOM II stock finish.

I did that a few years ago with a USGI stock and it turned out quite nice. I forget which brand paint I used but I remember that it was meant for outdoor use. After a couple of coats I sprayed it with a matte clear coat. I sold it to one of the guys on the forum so I can't say how it stood up to normal wear and tear. It sure looked nice though:D Here's the only pic I have left:

I've had the pleasure of holding a few of your custom painted stocks over the past few years. If you do start taking side jobs... P.m. Me :D

Turf.....Im interested in seeing the finished "Dragunov M14" project....I have a SKS version of the same stock just laying around doing nothing.....make sure to post pics when its done....Cheers......Wes

Okie dokie, I managed to get some work done on this from time to time this summer and it's just about ready for painting.

You'll also see that I've left the selector cutout unfilled. I have a dummy selector that I'll be installing.

After filling in with steel epoxy. Left, right and top.

Completely glassed.

After drying.

After sanding. Still have to fill some small low spots and pinholes with glazing putty, then some more sanding work before I paint. I have a Mountain Ash theme in mind. No particular reason other than I have a huge Ash tree in my yard.:D
