Conquest vs Victory vs Diavari

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the glass used in the Conquest line of scopes is made by Meopta and is of the same grade as Meopta's Meostar line. The glass quality of the Meostar scopes is also well regarded, especially for the price range, which seems to be in the same ballpark as Conquest scopes.

According to Zeiss video, all of their products are made in house including the glass. Check it out on their website or U-Tube.

I was just wondering how much of a difference that others have noticed in the Zeiss lines..

I don't know about Zeiss scopes, but I DO know about Zeiss lenses on cameras, and to me they are the benchmark in edge to edge sharpness, and all the other things you would expect from a top of the line optic: clarity, brightness, contrast, resolution, and overall image quality.

I only have one Zeiss scope at present, a Conquest 3.5 x 10 x 50 Rapid Z 600, and it lives on my primary hunting rifle. I'd like to buy some more eventually.

Are you considering buying one over the other? I know you are a zeiss fan. I am as well. I have 6 diavaris and 5 conquests. The difference is noticeable in both clarity and cost. With that said the conquests have no equal in value. IMHO. I won't hesitate to buy either the conquest or another diavari. GOOD IS GOOD! But I think you already know that.

I have to disagree, considering Swarovski's pricing lately!

You can get a Swarovski Z3 2.5-10x42 for $925 right now. The 4-12x50 is just over $1000. I think they are probably the best deals out there.

I own afew swaros s&bs kahles and ziess conqests & victory for the money you cant touch the conqest. The only reason to buy something else is for different options IE 6X
zoom

little off topic but I think my Swaro Z5 is clearer than my Nightforce

The new Swarovski scopes Z3/4i/5/6 are amazing - not that the older ones were shabby. Like I pointed out a few posts ago - I don't get all of the love for Conquest scopes given Plainsight Solutions' pricing on Swarovski scopes.

Prices are that good on the Swaro's Z3, Z5 and the Zeiss Conquest series only because they are assembled in the US.

Victory Diavari's and Swarovski's Z6 are entirely German made. I can see the difference in the finish and optical clarity when I compare my Conquest to my Diavari. My wallet noticed the difference too when I bought them.

So what type of target/benchrest scope did you have in mind?
The popular high end ones used in competitions are ones like S&B's PM line, US Optics,Hensoldt, Nightforce, Leupold MK IV to name a few. For informal LR target shooting there are lots available in the Conquest line.

There are benchrest scopes and the Hendsoldt is not one =)

reticle change

"My only gripe with zeiss is their choices in reticles. I love dot reticles and it isn't something common. In Canada it isn't an option to switch through the manufacturer either as they don't have a warranty center. ..... ....... I explained that Leupold has a depot that would accomodate a reticle change for a fee. As for warranty well I have never needed it so that is a moot point. "

Can you get this done in Europe? Would love to do this with my Diavari.
