Exactly!
The 8mm fills the gap between the 30 cal and the 338 cal, perhaps the biggest gap left in the North American continent...
It is a good cartridge, but as stated in many posts, the message is that most of us dont want change, and a 30 mag or 338 mag, or the non-mag '06 or 338-06 will knock anything over that the 325 will. That is correct, no disputing that.
But for those of us that like it, and shoot it, its a great caliber and a good cartridge, as are many other non-mainstrean cartridges.

Not all of us want to use a 30-30, 303, or 30-06.

don't want change , sir , is why power steering , air conditioning , an the fact the "06" wil knock anything over the 325 will ...Well how bout ur not so perfect SHOT ?? and if the 06 will do it why have a 338 ?? hmmm..u guys that have a 300 or 338 can't accept change ... Have u noticed it"s the same company that makes the 300 win and 338 win ..LIKE DUH ..put a puny 06 in the shoulder compare to the al mighty 325...good grief

Thats exactly my point with sarcasm... I have a 325 and love it - but I shake my head at people that dont see, welcome, or pursue advancement... all i get from my buds is 300, 338, 30-06.... for the only reason that we read above... I say its their loss not to have or try a really good cartridge! If there were no advancement we'd all drive amc pacers or ford pinto's or chev novas.....
but this thread, as well as many other 325 threads, gets overwhelmed with the ordinary 06, 300, and 338 crowd... Funny thing is I have met very few that want to part with a 325 - imho it was the only different WSM that really filled a gap or offered significant advancement. Over and out.
 
Alright. So, other than the fact that it's a 323 bore instead of a 308 bore, what does the 325 wsm ofer that is so much better than a 300wsm?

Not being a wise-@$$, I'd really like to hear what you have to say. I've sometimes thought about the 325, but will it really do something the 300WSM I already have won't? I tend to think not. The 0.15" isn't enough. So I haven't bought one.

And this is from the guy who owns a couple 270's and a couple 280's!

what does the 7mm rem mag do better then the 280?
30-06 do better then the 308?
450 marlin do better then the 45-70
17hmr do better then the 22 mag

The list go's on!!! No rnd is better then the other the only reason we have these choices is personal prefrance cause if we only had one choice to choose from it'd be a pretty boring life! As for your que's the answer is nothing it just kill's things deader :)

Not too familiar with the 45 cals, so I can't really answer that one.

It sends the smaller bullets faster, and they're more frangible, so its more devastating on the little critters like ground squirrels.

So, people like the 325 just because it's different? If that's all it is [and that is reason enough] then that's fine. Still doesn't mean I won't perhaps buy one some day. Just don't tell me it's so much better than the 300WSM.

I really like the 308 Norma Mag. I like it 'cause it's different, but I won't try to tell anyone that its better than the 300WinMag.

Sounds like the 325 is the same kinda thing. Just different.

They all kill the same thou. But you are right the 325 is no better and or no worse then the 300wsm everybody has diffent tastes.

lol..ya OK ...do u know what a 7mm is ..and ya I do ..do U ??? smart $$..well even go futher ..in todays age why would u buy in that class ,, anything but the 325 wsm ???? hmmmm 300wm and 338wm ..they cover a circle ..but guess what the 325 does not " FILL a gap"" it covers it ..300 and 338 are history ...for new and up comin intellegent hunters
