Ellwood Epps customer service -- unhappy!

This was not a warranty issue. Epps didn't deliver what the customer ordered - period.

A normal CGN dude like me wouldn't get away with that.

So it`s Epps fault that S&W sent out a faulty product.? If goods leave the manufacturer in less than perfect working order, then it is a warranty issue. Incidentally, I have no connection with Epps other than as satisfied customer after quite a few firearms transactions over the past number of years since Wes took over. Admittedly, I deal `face to face`so anything I have purchased, new or used ,has always received a thorough inspection before leaving the store. I just consider myself to be fortunate living close enough to be able to visit the store whenever I require another gun. As in everything, you have to speak as you find.!!!!

Purchased my Glock from Epps online and found the customer service to be excellent. I will buy from them again in the future..
But the Glock you purchased from Epps online was not broken "out of the box" when you received it now was it?

I might be okay with buying from Epps in the near future. Looks like they are getting a valuable lesson in the fine art of customer service. Now let's see if they are able to put that lesson to use.

I can't believe in this day and age that you still have to email them for pics of their used firearms listed. In the time it takes to post the ad it would take an extra couple minutes per firearm to take a pic.

Bought SR 9 from Epps few days back................the outside of trigger guard finish looks like some one used sand paper and made it rough on purpose but when i placed my order the guy i talked to was so nice and time of delivery was so great that i didnnt even bother with that ............anyways my way of thinking...........thanks

Awww poor you.... how many other stores don't post pics either??
Anytime I have requested pics Mack sent several immediately.
I can only imagine with the huge inventory they carry that to take pictures of everything would be a huge, endless task..

It is very clear to me Harrier 45 that you indeed do NOT take customer service very seriously as if you did this topic would have been one of praise instead of one of disapointment in how you handled a problem. In fact you only acted when you finally realized you had to do something to try and control the damage that you have done to your store. Also I might add that it took an awful lot of damage before you finally woke up.

Epp's

I purchased a Browning auto 5 (used) from them last year.Well because of health issues I was not able to test the gun until the summer of 2010 and WOW what a surprise, the previous owner had apparently modified the for-end and removed a chunk of wood from it,thus not allowing the barrel to set up properly and it would not fire at all.So I called Epp's and explained the problem.Well everything went down hill from there, there was no offer to repair or anything basically you bought it you own it deal with the problem yourself, that I did and had a local gunsmith from Lindsay repair and make the gun functional.
But you must wonder what type of a dealer leaves you hanging with a non-firing gun,was his gunsmith asleep or what.

So far I have been able to turn at least 10 individuals away from dealing with these people, and as long as I can breathe I will tell all about my experience with this company.

you most certainly have no clue what you are talking about !

And you most certainly have absolute no connection to reality !

Don't know guys, maybe I've been lucky over the years with Epps. I deal with one guy there, and I totally trust him. Of the 6 rifles I've bought none were duds, and all were mail order. The last one was sold as used, when it arrived it had never been fired,or even carried. No marks or bumps what so ever on it. I'll buy again if something interests me

Not many. Look at accuracyplus or thegundealer .net. I have waited days for pics the 2 times I asked.

I had a problem no so much with the gun be the fact that they sold me the gun under cost and they sat on that deal until they found a demo they sold me
I will never buy an other gun from them!

I paid for new and got used thanks Epps

I am sorry if what I said has offended you in some way but I am telling it as I see it and reserve the right to have an opinion and express it in a civilized manner, perhaps you could do the same.!!!

While I learned enough from this thread and most of this knowledge is rather sad, I think it's time to close it now. Thanks again for posting this OP. That's why this forum can be so useful to all of us here.
