Hey guys,

Thinking about a semi-auto shotgun. Have narrowed it down to these two.

Benelli M4 $2000?

Fabarm SAT8 $1000?

What's your guy's thoughts and opinions?
Is the Benelli twice the shotgun the Fabarm is?
Build quality, fit and finish?

Thanks guys.

If you ask me, the Benelli is a much better gun. Fir, finish and quality are all top notch. Is it $1000 better? That is a question only you can answer.

tough question,

I love my M4, threaded chokes a big + for things like bird hunting.

To be honest I have not tried the Fabarm SAT8. But for $1K I'd jump on it.
I actually prefer my Pump action Fabarm to the Benelli M4. (lighter & faster)

What are you going to be using it for?

IMO I think they are very similar.

Ghost ring sights - (M4 white front dot) (Fab Green/Red fibre) + love'em
rails - (M4 top) (Fab top and fore-end) + if you like vertical grips
Barrel - (M4 removable chokes)+ Mulit use (Fab muzzle brake)
Stock - (M4 Sekeletonized) + looks cool, but will you use it? (Fab Fixed)
Origin (M4 Italy) ++ (Fab Italy) ++

If you can, try them both. Other than that guess it all depends on if you want $1k in your pocket.
Either way I think I'll be happy with your choice.

Benelli all the way!

Check out the M2 Tactical too

Benelli has way more after market options for it

I like Benelli's a lot, and used a borrowed one for ducks last year.
The only thing that scares me is the price tags.
If I find a good deal on a M2 I might make the plunge.

Save yourself the $1000 and buy the Fabarm Sat 8. I've got one and although I've never fired the benelli I have handled them and I'm pretty sure at the range the Fabarm is going to perform every bit as well as the Benelli does. It's a great shotgun.

Bolt release sucks

No aftermarket stocks "ones with shorter LOP"

can you float a round in the Fabarm?

To each there own but personally I like the bolt release, it works for me and I've had no problems with it. The length of pull is perfect for me (I don't wear a bullet proof vest) and no I can't float a round but for $1000 and for what I use it for I'm ok with that.

The M4 is formidable but the M2 is considerably lighter. I did the Tactical Response course with an M2 and it performed accurately and without fault. I don't know the Fabarm but I'd look at a Mossberg auto if I were shopping for something less $ than a Benelli.

I have a 930 with a +2 mag ext, which I've blocked with a bolt and lots of expoxy. Came out looking factory. I am running 6+1+1 2.75" shells. Hard to beat the mossberg for capacity, I think.

Also, not a single failure that I haven't induced purposefully.

6 rounds in the mag? is that not a no no?
