Robarms XCR FAQ post

They would be a no-go for hunting with the XCR in Ontario (5 Round Semi-Auto Max). Now that being said I do have the LAR 15 10 Round magazines for hunting with my Remington 7615 :).

Regards,

Chizzy

I don't remember that part of the reg? Do you have a link for me to read it at all?
If thats true, I'm glad you posted that before I got myself in a little trouble:redface: Looks like it will be PMags for me

That sucks I also have 10 round 7.62X39 pistol mags that take 11 6.8SPC rounds and yes I can hunt with them here...

Camp Cook:

You make me want to move west, and I would, except for the big bears and cats that want to eat me. :)

Chizzy

Hello FreddyFour:

I had it in my head that 5 rounds was the maximum from the following:
Under the Criminal Code of Canada you cannot possess
any clip/magazine that holds more than five shots for a
semi-automatic centre fire non-restricted firearm unless that
clip/magazine has been specifically exempted, pursuant to the
Firearms Regulations.
found in the Ont. Hunting Regulations found at the following URL:

http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/stdprodconsume/groups/lr/@mnr/@fw/documents/document/239841.pdf

I must apologize for my earlier statement. Upon reading the quote above the wording seems to indicate that there are exemptions to this 5 round limit.

Given that it is not illegal to possess the LAR-15 10 round magazines under the Canadian Criminal Code it would appear that I could have been using these magazines all along instead of limiting myself to the 5 round magazines. :(

Again, my apologies for my incorrect statement.

Time for me to go and load up some 10 round LAR-15 magazines.

Regards,

Chizzy

Only thing is your XCR-L is probably so accurate you will only ever need one shot...

That is if you can do your part. :p

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith to lighten up my 223 barrel preferably in the Vancouver area? I was thinking of having it turned down behind the gas block and fluted in front. any help would be great.

I'd go see Jo Dlask.
Now would be a good time to buy the 7.62X39mm conversion kit. While your .223 barrel is sitting in Dlasks shop for an undetermined period of months awaiting completion, you could still be shooting your XCR.
As a bonus the 7.62 barrel is 4 ounces lighter than the .223!

If you end up getting the work done please post pics and details here!.
I have been contemplating having the same thing done for some time now.

Thanks for the info Sun. I'll give Dlask a call on Monday and see what they have to say. I'll keep you posted.

Anyone know if you can get them with the ACR type buttstock? All i see is pics of the ones with the folding stock looking thing on the back

Can someone tell me what thread the flash hider is. I was under the impression that
it was 1/2"x28 but my new NEA muzzle brake wont fit.

My 7.62x39 barrel was 5/8-24 thread and the .223 is supposed to be 1/2-28 from what I have read elsewhere, but I haven't removed the factory flash hider from my .223 barrel yet to confirm. It is possible it could be 5/8-24 as well. Now I'm curious

Which NEA brake did you get?

I bought the NEA Crusader brake. On the NEA site it doesn't say what thread count it is but I assumed it is the standard 1/2"-28 but now I'm not sure.

According to NEA's website, their Crusader brake thread comes in 1/2x28 and 14x1R. The 14x1R is for the CZ858.

Does the brake seem to be too big or loose when you are trying to install it?

It's too tight. It will start to thread and then it just stops. I thought it might just be the coating on the muzzle brake but it's more than a little tight.

I see your in Vancouver. If you can stop by Dlask with your barrel and brake, Jo would be able to tell you immediately what thread you have.
