Tapco SKS Mag

As far as i know, no mods should be necessary as long as you get the SKS specific magazine (duckbill style).

Was using a friends Russian SKS at the range a few weeks back in preparation for buying one and it was a pretty simple interchange between the stock fixed mag and the tapco.

As for whether they are any good or not, his opinion of them wasn't great. Not really sure of the purpose myself - it's not like we can use the 20 round capacity, and stripper clips are pretty quick.

Im using a 20/5 rd tapco (just for the look of it :D )...Have it permanent installed instead of the original one,you still can load it with stripper clips and I haven't seen any wear on the mag lips nor did I have any jam yet, have it in there since almost a year, around 400 rounds...and it cost only 19.95 back then.
I'm pleased so far!

i'm wanting to continue to use the stripper clips just like you. Is there a specific one you need to be able to do that?

Any Tapco mag will work with stripper clips or will fit the Russian or Chinese models, PM or call us for instructions on how to fine tune them, we sell & install a LOT!

Good thing I kept the stickers,I guess...The first one says :

SKS 7.62x39 MM
(20)RD BLACK POLYMER
SKS-A5
Lifetime warranty

and the other one says the same, only except the warranty thing it has a barcode and a #

7 08279 00982 2
made in USA

Try Rayn'er Shine Gunworks in Lancer,SK He's plugging them to 5 rd and selling. As far as I know he still got some. Pretty sure he is shipping too.

400 rounds in a year? that's it! I had my sks for less than 6 months and had close to 3000 rounds through it! You need to get to the range more!

plastic ones are garbage..... you will break it.....

eventually maybe. But they are 20ish bucks and will last a couple years. the metal detachable were $90ish last time i saw them. for the price of 2 metal ones you can get 9 plastic.... and the ones i had worked great and I had not a single issue with them.

sooo metal will last "forever". plastic depending on use and care will last 10 years or 10 days. I'd still go plasic. in this case quantitiy over quality is ok. The 1 metal mag i had perfermed the exact same as 6ish plastic, but the plastic holds 30 rounds the metal only holds 5....

Edit: before i get some illegal larry in here. 6x5=30 they were pinned mags.

yeah if i was getting them for 20 bucks instead of 48 i'd definitely go plastic as well. but with the pricing being much closer i may just go for the metal
