That's a solid option, a ghost sight rear and a fiber glow sight up front would make these even more ideal as a bush gun.

I am still tempted to just get a short piece of rail attached to the rear sight area and drop a T1 or something similar on it and call it a day. :) However backup iron sights would be pretty darn handy in case the scope dies. :50cal:
 
The latest batch has the taurus security lock on the hammer.

Does that count as a secure locking device when it comes to canadian law? Aka a trigger lock?

Never been tested in court but I would personally argue most strongly that it should count. the gun IS disabled, and that's what the law requires.

I bought a Tune-Up' DVD from Steve's Gunz. In addition to the suggested mechanical mods/tweaks, it has detailed take-down and assembly and cleaning instructions.

It is a revolver....I poached the picture off the net but it's the same idea. You turn the bolt with a hollowed hex key and it protrudes like in the picture so the hammer can't clear the receiver and when it's unlocked it's recessed in the hole. Seems simple enough and solid.

well if it works I wouldnt complain. damnit now I wish they made the ranch hand stainless! :mad:
 
Ran around 65 assorted rounds throgh my .357 today. Mostly .38 special, everything from SWC, to plated round nose, to flat point. I noticed its a little hard on the fingers trying to load it. It also shoots high as others have already determined. I had one FTExtract but it otherwise was 100% reliable.
 
I also just got home today and my wife said "I think your new gun came in". There it was on my counter. The big brown box of mare's leg. I'd like to thank Gary for his awesome customer support! I can't wait to take this little .44 out. And I meen little, it surprised me by it's size.

ok so I got the sight in from steves guns, and I now understand why you need a rubber mallet/punch for replacement, but how to you ensure the sight is perfectly aligned with the barrel? ie how do you ensure it is perfectly centered..?

please forgive my ignorance if I am missing something, I just want to make sure I do this properly. I have never had to change out sights on my rifles before. And I cannot seem to find anything helpful via google or youtube.

I am sure there is a more specialized approach but from my experience it is trial and error. Get the rear sight so it looks centered then if it is shooting left or right drift the front sight to adjust it.

That is how I have done it.

I am sure there is a better way though... ;)
 
Step 1, remove sight.
Step 2, install new sight,
Optional1:
Use laser-type bore sighter to align sights at 25yrds.
Optional 2: just shoot a huge target board from 10 yrds and keep moving backwards until you get desired range.
 
Yay got mine!

I emailed our CFO to inquire if the Taurus security system meets the criteria of the law. I will update this thread once I get a response.
