UPDATE: Rossi Ranch Hand Mares Leg

I can see the CFOs getting "pizzy" if packing holstered MLs on camping and fishing trips becomes a popular practice and try to pressure the RCMP into reclassifying them to RESTRICTED.

Ahhh

Thanks

I can't see me carrying a 2 foot long gun weighing 3 or 4 pounds around in a hip holster all day long but it wouldn't be a problem for a 6' tall guy.

I don't know how that would be perceived by the Canadian public and Canadian law enforcement if a significant number of gun owners did it.

I'd likely pack mine in a pack sack if I owned one which I don't at the present time.

With the morons out there....
Probably concealed weapon but the knife probably wouldn't! (If they see that I mean)

It honestly needs to stop

Thanks to Gary at Wanstalls, I have an awesome christmas present ( in 45 colt). Ran 50 rounds of all description through it with no problems ( and it will get slicker with age ) It's going to make a great tractor gun to protect me from those vicious prairie gophers :D

Just checked Wanstalls website, no mare's legs! Is he planning to keep them ordered and coming in?

Seems to be - he still has a waitlist so he's filling those before putting stock into the storefront.

Overall length less than 26" is what I think. Hope I'm wrong. Would love one.

They're less than 26 OAL but were deliberately classified as non-res. The RCMP know and don't care.

My only fear is some a$$hat will do something stupid and a a reporter or anti-group will start screaming about the sky falling.

Christmas was Wonderful!

I think something Rossi this way cometh....

Thanks Wanstalls..... Mares Leg in .357mag / .38sp arrived well in time for Christmas.

The wife loved the gun & can't wait to shoot it (she didn't guess what it was, due to the delay in them coming in, in sufficient numbers.) We finally have time & are heading to the range tomorrow. Will update once we get back.

Thanks so much guys, the wait was worth seeing her smile, she's been wanting a .357mag gun for quite a while.

they probably wont reclassify these. mare's legs have been around a while, and the RCMP are well aware they are 24 inches in length. Its really not worth worrying about IMO.

HOWDY,
Glad to hear the 357 are in ,soon they will start to show up on the sale board , only fired one box still new. LOve that, shot is shot.

I'd rather buy a used Rossi from an honest nut because then I can ask him about any feeding issues, poorly indexed barrel, accuracy and point of aim/impact etc...

I like the Rossi's but short of handling one in person the next best thing is an honest accurate description of a used ( tested) one that is for sale on the EE.

The only issue with this of course is the quality of the gun nut that is making the sale but for the most part despite a few losers in the EE the odds are that the buyer will be happy.
I've found even the losers who describe their guns poorly or outright lie usually will offer to take it back.......:jerkit:
