Me too and a bunch of my friends. NEA, when you were designing this rail I offered my advice from an end users perspective and it would appear you completely ignored it. This two sided clamping design is exactly why I would not use this rail on one of my builds.

Why would you lose the front sight? Looks fine and believe it or not, the A2 front sight block is quite practical.

Almost done my build and damned if I didn't shoot out and lose the rear takedown spring putting on the stock. Anybody else hate that little f**ker? Almost as much joy as a roll pin.

i just took the plunge on a NEA 7.5 today and i should see it in a few weeks.

Until it slams into your leg when you are running with the rifle slung. I loathe the A2 front sight.

yeah... it weighs in at just over 1lb

Keep the front sight base. A taper pin FSB are more reliable then a screwed on gas block.
