Zombie Apocalypse

Hmmm. Yes you'll need a gas mask that is also set up for the filter system to be on the opposite side that you shoot from. The glass would make something like iron sights even harder and slower. Unlike the living dead zombie which are often partially decayed, the viral zombie can move faster. So faster acquisition and longer distance will be needed. Plus head shots would still be recommended.

You'll need an optic for sure now. I would go with the ones already suggested. They work best overall, and especially with this type of pretty much never going to happen scenario :D.

Also don't forget about the human component. No one is your friend when the food, fuel etc dry up. The optics will help you avoid ambushes and conduct counter sniper activity.

There you go. I would feel embarrassed about this but I'm a few rum and cokes already past embarrassment at such a thread. :D

Here's some funny reading:

Dude, that link split my sides open from laughter. I will admit that I have looked up zombie stuff too, but I didn't find anything as funny as that.

ACOG TA31 and suing it with the BAC concept. Still good up close and beyond but without having to change magnification and doesnt run out of batteries.

Woke, in the middle of last night, from a nightmare. I love zombie movies n shows, as they're the only thing that will actually scare me. Consequently, that's the only type of nightmare that I ever have! They were "rage zombies", aka "viral zombies", and super fast! All I had was a single shot bolt action .22, and a pocket full of ammo. The kicker was, 9 out of 10 of them were blank rounds!!

Why aim? Allah will guide the bullets...

My thoughts exactly

I'm happy with my 3-9 X 32 Tasco on my 10/22 for long range when I'm hiding and Irons for short range, or a red dot. I would probably bring my .22's with me during a zombie apocalypse and ditch the SKS as its too damn loud. A shotgun with a laser/flashlight combo would come in handy too.

I think a .22 would just piss them off. Need more carnage.
