Lets get a some lever action #### going

Thanks a gift from my wife...Canadian Tire I beleive. I thought you were going to curse me for scoping my gun :D. 2-7x32, my eye's and iron sights lose confidence past 75yds. BTW nice rifle

Not at all. I have scopes on a couple of my Marlins. Eyesight isn't quite as sharp as it used to be plus, ;)the scopes help load testing and paper punching. On my 1895GS in 45-70 and my 444S I've mounted scopes, using Weaver pivot mounts for quick access to the open sights should the need arise.

I sure like pivot mounts, they keep the best of both worlds together on one gun!

Let us know how the reloading works out for you, and how she shoots. Gonna take it on a hunt?
Thanks, I like the 64s too. They were / are a very aesthetically pleasing gun. And yes, the 25-35 is a great caliber for shooting, they have quite a bit of snap to them. I have another 25-35, don't think I posted pics of it though yet. It is a semi-deluxe 1894 with some rare special order options.
Matt

I only have one 1894 in 25-35, half mag short rifle, nothing really out of the ordinary.

I don't know about the hunting, this is a big gun for the kind of hunting I do, and yes I will post the results of the thing when I get dies all set up and running!

Geeze Matt that 64 in 25-35 is a beaut
But what the heck you gonna do with it?
Can't shoot it, can't display it with neighbours like yours ;)
You could sell a few & buy a nice Super Cub with that kinda $$ :D

Just to keep the Marlin theme going here are 4 Model 1893s in different barrel lengths. Starting at the top is 30", 28", 26" (standard) and a 24"

Bittermansbro, that is a nice Model 1895 that you have. I am still looking for the elusive pre 1906 Model 1895 Carbine.

Thanks. What am I going to do with it? Well, I do pick it up and admire it from time to time, lol. I know, can't shoot it, and with neighbors like we have, almost need to bury it in concrete.
Yes, these aren't cheap, but sure are nice rifles. A Super Cub? I was watching this show the other day about folks flying up in Alaska, and it kind looks like a lot of fun, getting those little planes into those remote lakes and areas. Don't know that I would ever be able to find the time though, or place to put the darned thing!

Hey Huntsman,

That's a nice collection, but what's with the wonky looking lever on the 3rd one down?

Something ###y about these Marlin 1893's and the closed bolt.
Fine herd you have there Road King.

I would love to find a set of those swivels to fit the wide factory studs for mine bought in '49 (shown back on page 2 of this thread).

Matt (or anyone), you don't happen to know where these might be found do you?

.

Here are some photos of my 64 with the proper vintage sling and swivels.
A big thanks to Matt74.

TwoTone,
That is an awesome looking lever gun...no low caffine jitter apologies are required. What caliber is it? Where did you get the blank for the factory sight? (need one for my '94 .44 with a newly installed Williams peep)
One day....
Cheers, Will

TwoTone: The sling looks great. I'm glad you are happy with it.

You could leave it at my place...no charge!
Just leave me the key so I can...er...well so you won't loose it

Lol. And I'm sure when I come buy to take it out for spin, it'd be right where I left it eh? ;)

I'll check to see if I have an extra.

Senior: You are a great friend ;)

Wow! Fantastic assortment of rifles!

Here's one I recently found: A 1910 SRC with a 3-leaf express sight. Yes, all three leaves are still there! Gumwood stocks, too. :)

I figured it would only be a matter of time until someone asked for a pic of the sight:

Good ol' 30-30. Stamped 30WCF on the barrel.

I got the dovetail blank from Brownells, part number 579-087-100. Or just search for 'Marble Slot Blank'.
