And then things got ugly..

The Enfield was nick named old ugly so i guess it fits in this thread eh.

This one was issiued to David Mcgall a constable of the NWNP Came right from ireland off the boat enlisted into the NWMP in 1885
I bet he clubed a few guys with it in the years of service.
There was some big Matie upriseing in 1885 this gun was there keeping them under controll to some extent. It will blow big holes in stuff and i like the weight.
The action is pretty neat to.

Wow! these things are the coolest!! the Robbins and Lawrence appears to have started as octagon bar stock  + 100,000 man hours. When were these pistols made? Any idea of approximate value when they were made?
Both Kinapin and Robbins and Lawrence?

The Robbins was made from about 1850-55. USA made. The caps are covered, and a revolving hammer. The ring is to #### it, trigger as ahead of the ring. Likely about $12.oo to compete. Or less. This gun has a de-cocking button on the back strap.
The Kinapen is from Belgium I think. About 1860 till 1870. Likely about the same price. Damn inflation.
Both these things work well, and as new bores.

Sometimes ugly comes in a pair. One of these was on a different thread one time, but have a special place here. They are Savage .36 cal Navys. Most went to the big war. Made- 1861 till about 66.
Where's the rest of the less attractive stuff? I'm getting a complex.

So...middle finger is in the ring, cocking and index finger on the trigger?? That doesn't leave many digits to hold the gun:p

You almost need two hands to operate these things. Two guns at full speed on horse-back would be tough. They weren't well accepted in the war.
I would like to have them both working well enough to try them at the same time. Just once.
