You mean the flash hider?

It's loud going to get them off some day.

FYI I bought my XCR-L in 223 from Wolverine then ordered the 6.8SPC barrel from them after swapping out conversion kits far to many times I contacted Wolverine again and ordered the components for the complete upper if I remember right it took about 6 months to get everything.

I now just pull a snapring off slide the cross pin out swap uppers install the pin/snapring and I am good to go.

I want another complete upper as well but RA doesn't make a conversion kit in 458 SOCOM or 450 Bushmaster so I am out of luck.

Want my Flash hider gone as well, way to loud. Looking for something that will reduce muzzle jump and not be AS loud. Any sugestions???

pws triad from questar.
that is all you need to know. directs sound away, less jump.

have one on my .223 and will never look back.

How did you install it and was it difficult?

after I got the flash stock, welded-on flash hider off, it was very easy to to index because they supply shims.

you can youtube installation of it.

Getting the stock hider off wasn't to terrible bad. Just a drill, wood blocks to secure the barrel in the vise and a wrench.

locate the weld spot on the bottom of the hider, drill it out, twist off, then clean up the threads a little, thread new device on, be happy, because that stock one is a POS

Anyone else XCR just love the Czech M43 ammo? I'm getting a consistent
1.5" MOA at 100 off the bench with an 3X ACOG, no intranets BS.
I just can't quit this stuff...why reload with accuracy like that?
Only downside is it is filthy, but I enjoy cleaning my XCR more than my VZ.

These days my .223 kit sits in the safe and collects dust!

Any issues using this corrosive ammo? I'm kinda worried putting that down the pipe of my XCR!

Has anybody got any tips/hints/advice for removing the 6.8 barrel brake/suppressor? I assume it is much the same as the process outlined above for the .223 setup, but I'm just wondering about any "good to know tidbits" specific to the 6.8 barrel brake/suppressor.

As well, for anyone else who has removed the 6.8 brake/suppressor, what options are there for a replacement? Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

Slug, I'm in the same boat, once I get ambitious enough to remove my 6.8 hider I might do up a tutorial. It looks like the weld is a lot more pronounced on the 6.8 vs the .223.

Can anyone with a set of calipers tell us how deep the flash hider is before you hit the barrel threads?

-when i did my .223 I removed and clamped the barrel with a barrel block (a piece of wood with a hole drilled through the middle)
- I filed a spot flat on the flash hider where I suspected the welds would be (not recommended if you like your gear in tip - top shape)
-I center punched a where I wanted to start drilling, then worked my way up in my drill bits.
- it took a fair bit of twisting, but eventually it did come off.

as for options for the 6.8 (these only ones OFTOMH)
-battlecomp
-pws triad 6.8

You folks should ask Craftsman441. He did the brake on my 7.62x39. He milled the brake off, you wouldn't be able to use it again, and made me a new one. I had posted it earlier on in this thread. If he isn't too busy, he might be good enough to help someone out!
