What about a petition to make AR's non-restricted?

I own two ARs and I have probably owned at least a dozen over the course of the last 10 years. If they were non restricted I probably wouldn't own any rifle but AR15s which is sad cause I could clear out a lot of guns from my safe and actually I could buy a smaller safe. :(

Noooo!!!

haha teapot!! what about the dragunov haha that makes less sense :p its an SVT40/medved in disguise :stirthepot2: I think if somone brought in a AK and a SVD and a SVT40 the argument would be toast...

If you don't buy an AR because they are restricted, you're letting the antis win.

The best way to help along change on this front is for everyone and their dog to buy an AR. It would be harder to prohibit them if there were millions of them owned by the populace, and it would make the argument much more compelling to repeal their existing restriction as well.

We need more guns owned (of all types) and more gun owners in general , if we want to win the war.

...got to admit, I like this idea MUCH better. Demystify guns. Always a nice idea.

I hear ya. If ARs were NR I would have one lower and a few uppers.

I couln`t agree more with derestricting AR type rifles. The rimfire versions being restricted is totally retarded. I would get one except you can only use them at the range and that doesn`t appeal to me. The mag. limit is also another stupid bit of over reacting, if your going to rob or murder someone you won`t be to concerned about a law limiting the number of rounds you can load at one time. Total ignorance and just an attempt to eliminate ownership. I have called my MP about these and other issues, like the Armi Jager.

Why?

The ar is a dangours rifle that has to be kept at the club, its so obvious the bullet coming out of ar is more dangerous than that coming out of any other rifle.

I think the politicians and police know more than we do, and they help make the laws so we must follow.

I thank the gov and police for keeping us safe from evil ar.

Where do I sign? Im all in for this. What teh fvck is the difference between shooting a CZ858 or an AR in the woods? None of these stupid laws make any type of sense.

Depends. Look at BC and the HST...although I do notice I'm still paying HST long after it has been repealed...lol.

Sorry for off topic...but...Funny how they can bring it in so darn fast but to get rid of it takes 'til March 2013...(things that make you go "hmmm")...my guess is that they're gouging to get funds to repay the feds...but what do I know?

Can they? Of course they can, they have a majority in parliament and the senate. Any legislation they truly want to pass they can, with no real obstacles.

Will they? Absolutely not. The CPC are not our friends, they are simply less the enemy than the Libs and the NDP. The CPC are no more interested in significantly loosening gun control laws than they are in legalizing pot.

ialso agree that having more in the hands of restricted owners boosts the numbers and "pull"
educating the public is the biggest obstical, we as a gun community need to generate "good gun news", look what toys for tots does for the bikers, at least one positive news story per year. thats more than i hear about gun clubs, you can blame the "libral media" or work to generate positive news in your own communtiy

If they want to keep it restricted, but let us ATT anywhere we want and discharge anywhere we can discharge non-restricted, that's fine with me. The fact that it's singled out as restricted means it can't arbitrarily be turned into a prohibitied, it has to be singled out again before that can happen. That said, non-restricted would be preferred.
