Robarms XCR FAQ post

95gr Barnes TTSX/110gr Barnes TSX/110gr Sierra Prohunters.

I would also like to give either the 100gr or 110gr Accubonds a try...

90 Speers for coyotes, 110Tsx's shoot good but couldn't push as fast as I would have liked too. 110 vmaxs are alright but not accurate in my gun, Sierra's 110 prohunter are a good all around bullet and would use them on anything with in reason. Favorite for hunting is 100 Accubond's and just trying 95 TSX's which seem to be a real good "killer". Any one tried the 85 TSX's? Should add just got some A2200 powder and can't wait to try it out.

Best choices for powders are A2200/RL10/H322...

I use H322 only because that is what I started with and I had not heard of A2200 yet and now that I have have not been able to find any yet.

For the most complete info on the 6.8SPC cartridges goo to h ttp://68forums.com/forums/forum.php

Can anyone tell me off the top of their head what the thread is on the 6.8 barrel? I am going to take the plunge and remove the factory abomination and I'd like to have a new brake/FS on hand ready to install right away.

And yes; I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere in this thread already, but I am not reading through fifty pages, and the search function blows ####...

Thanks!

6.8 is a 5/8-24 thread, I put a XB-4 from Dlask on mine. All the sound goes away from me, don't know how well it "hides" the flash. Doesn't matter as its the last thing the critters ever see :dancingbanana:

Thank you!

Do you have any pics of the XB-4 installed on your XCR?

Speaking of flash hiders and the like, anyone have some tips on removing the stock one? Just recently got my xcr, so its pretty much the newest model, all I need to do is put it in a vice and use a wrench? Want to make sure I do this right

This was a question I asked a few posts back...
I just installed the JP Muzzle Brake:

Make sure you use a properly sized wrench as it will cause marring as I did in my haste and impatience. I put some electrical tape and vice grips...
It wasn't terrible but it did leave some teeth marks on my new Muzzle Brake.. :( Still works like a charm though! LOL
As for the spot weld I did NOT drill to deep, I more less just removed the top layer as not to hit the threads. With some force and proper wrench in a Vice, make sure its snug with wood on each side, it should come off nicely. Also buy the shims as I ended up having to leave the old crush washer plus the new one for a proper indexing.
The single was not large enough in my case...

"Getting the stock hider off wasn't to terrible bad. Just a drill, wood blocks to secure the barrel in the vise and a wrench.
locate the weld spot on the bottom of the hider, drill it out, twist off, then clean up the threads a little, thread new device on, be happy, because that stock one is a POS"

Found the Vid and thanks

Last thing its amazing the difference this muzzle brake makes for fast follow up shots standing! Be prepared as its PHUCING LOUD, like a .308 loud...
Standing with my ELCAN at 1x, 25m I was easily hitting 10rds with follow shots consistently in a 6x6 inch window, a few flyers due to my movement. At 40m I was in the 8x8 range and same tight followups!

Don't despair Jay, I just ordered a Bolt-stop last week from Wolverine, cost was 17$ and I had it in three days. I highly recommend you grab an 11$ firing-pin as well. At least your malfunction wouldn't have been a fight-stopper, in my case the Zombies would have overrun me and devoured me for sure! :p

yup I was never worried about being coverd or taken care of it just sucked cause I had a bunch of new shooters out and they watched and expensive gun fail lol. On a side note I think there will be a few new pistol owners after they get the course done.
