Interested in buying a SCAR17 rifle with a couple of extra magazines and need to know a little more about it.... Pros Cons and where and how to buy one.
Any suggestions would be appreciated![]()
my suggestion would be buy an RFB or a XCR-M if your looking for a non restricted in .308. Or you can look at a whole bunch of different AR's or variants in .308.... you will not be seeing the Scar17 anytime soon in Canada.
Do you have some good links?
thanks
So now that with the LGR gone, do we even need to register these Scar? As long as the barrel is longer than 18.5???

The FRT hasn't been released, so it's not even legal in Canada yet.
Firearms Reference Table, the list of firearms that the CFC maintains that is the official record of their classification as non-restricted, restricted or prohibited.

An FRT number doesn't make a firearm legal in Canada. It is a number for the purposes of registration. I am curious to see now that the LGR is gone about that. No need to register it if it is non-restricted. then theoretically - If no need to register it then there is no need to have an FRT. Interesting.

FRT's are required for determining the legal status of a firearm. It's not directly linked to registration and still fully applies to non-restricted firearms.
