Ruger 10/22 upgrades

Hey. I like to help... The auto bolt release is a great mod, I did mine myself. It's just more convenient. Also I just ordered a dlask 16.5" threaded barrel, I love it! Great quality! And I personally use a hogue overmold stock, also from dlask I love it!

Man your setup sounds awesome want to put up some pics? So with the over molded stock I'm guessing the dlask barrel is a bull barrel? What else have you done?

Is it worth it getting a titanium firing pin? And when I get the extractor, trigger kit, and extended bolt release should I let a gunsmith install them? Or is it so easy I should just do it myself. And will gunsmiths even take easy jobs like that.

since this picture i have "blued" the bolt... its pretty much black now

i dunno if u can see it but i have also put red nail polish (laugh if u want lol) into all the lettering, serial number and logo on the reciever, as well as painted my trigger red.... you can also purchase pretty much this exact set up, (with a Dlask reciever... which will be here shortly) RIGHT from dlask for about $550..... but i thought building was so much "funner" :)

Don't wanna sound like a downer, But you're not going to get much for $300.
I've close to if not more than $1200 into my 10/22.

The best thing you can do for yourself is the bolt release. 2nd is radius your bolt add an extractor and polish your trigger parts.

Next i would replace the stock and barrel. This won't be cheap. And since you'll need a scope/optics for the new bull barrel, This is another expense, Along with rings for the optic.

Innercity is right, this setup is not cheap, just as far as the looks department goes....
i started with a deluxe sporter 10/22 $300, barrel and stock shipped and taxes was $287 i believe and cheap muzzle break $25, 2.5-10x42 tasco and rings (used) $60.... im into this thing for $672 not counting the extra mags, target hammer, extractor, all the polishing, and the like....

Damn might have to hold off for awhile then. Maybe just get the extractor, bolt release and trigger kit for now. Can I just hand if off to a gunsmith and let him do some work on the trigger? Also what kind of magazines do you guys use.

That sucks but sounds like you have a sweet setup to. Why don't you post some pics?

Yup it's not cheap for a good build. I'm into mine for roughly $1500. An extractor, and hammer and sear is well under $100. Auto bolt release is free and so is chamfering the bolt. This will make your rifle shoot much better. Then figure out what u want for a barrel and stock... Save up and go from there.

I just did the math.... Over $1500! Ouch!

What did you spend the bulk of your money on? Cause I'm looking at all the parts I would want and it's about 800$. How did you get to 1500$?
