Hey, I have 3 SKS's, we should swap and help give each other a bit of variety.
I know, I'm such a thoughtful guy.

Lordy!

Thought I was doing good to have ONE!

Now for the snoopy bit:
1. why four? Apart from that you can't find a fifth?
2. what are the differences?
3. where do you find parts?
4. how do they shoot?
5. pet loads?

Damn! That's a whole gun collection right there.... and a fine one, too!

You are to be congratulated, Sir.
.

As the old saying goes ---- " He's Luckier than a man with two Johnsons " & ---- " Fall in a bucket of S**T come up smelling like a---- JOHNSON ! "

------------Very Nice btw ! --- If time affords , & I can find it , I'll try to post a pic of mine .

i have only ever once touched one of these in person, but i would like to know more about how the mag works

can it be topped up with the bolt closed?
what clips does it use? FAL/M-14 style?
what round is next to feed, the last one put in the mag or the first one?

There will be no asking another man about and or how to properly discharge his johnson on these here forums.
;):p

Damn, those are some nice rifles. Whats it feel like to probably own more than 1% of a particular type of gun in Canada?

Johnson uses Springfield M1903 CHARGERS and .30-06 ammo UNLESS you have one of the super-rare ones in 7x57.

First round IN is last round OUT. You CAN load with loose rounds; just shove them in. UNLOADING is easy, too: push the mag cover all the way IN and hold it while it spits them all out. Feed lips are in the rifle frame: no possibility of wrecking them.

This is a handy mag if you are spotting for an MG or Arty. You can put a couple of Tracers into the mag and fire the round up the pipe; you now have a Tracer under the hammer and can indicate the target at will.

Mag capacity is 10 rounds and I don't think ANYONE has figured out how to screw one up so it will handle only 5. Magazine capacity with the mag off the rifle is ZERO rounds; remove it and it will dump, same as the SAFN-49 but the Johnson mag is a rotary. Big difference is that you have to take the Johnson in half to remove the mag!

Works real good, too.

REALLY interesting point about the Johnson is that the entire rifle can be taken down completely by using only the screwdriver which is built into the Bolt Handle! I have done this, just to prove that the old books were right.

Hope this helps.

I remember when Century Arms brought in the Johnson 1941's and sold them for $49.95. It was a real lottery on the condition of the gun that you got. They showed that they were used in southeast asia, wood was either good or firewood. Barrels were the same, not bad or terrible. I bought some and sold them...the garand's were in better condition.
