NEA-15 after 400 Rounds Fired **Pic Heavy**

Colt makes great stuff and they are available, they're just not cheap or terribly innovative. Old steady.

Colt does NOT export anymore. You can only buy used, unless LEO. f**k colt. They even limited their civie sales in the US and are just now realizing how much business they have lost to other manufacturers.

I'd take a Norc over a Colt any day and I don't want a Norc..period. Screw the chicoms.

Hating?? No, I don't hate anyone.

I see many of you think ill of me at this point. That's OK, you don't know me personally, nor do you know the whole NEA story to judge.

The many that do know me through training, matches and indirectly through many deals over the years know that I'm easy going, honest, get along kind of man.

Aside from NEA, several other members complained to the mods here about my recent posts. Because I was asked to tone down in a respectful way and by a moderator I've known for several years, I will oblige.

I make NO apologies to NEA, but I do wish to excuse myself to the rest of the membership for getting your shorts all tied up.

Yet here you are yet again, passing off falsehoods. I don't know what your beef is, or who you've been talking to but you've been fed a line of BS. And we'd appreciate it if you'd refrain from slandering us with stories you know nothing about.

I agree with this guy, i'd take a norc over a colt too.

Really?

LMAO!

Ok

There is a great article in the latest Surfire Combat Tactics magazine about how close Colt came to bankruptcy and how they nearly gave up on civvie sales which was a huge business mistake. They are eating a lot of crow now and trying to make up for it...in the USA. Not here, they don't give a #### about Canada. The only thing that saved Colt was orders for M4s from the US military. Now they are losing ground in that arena to HK and others.

You would also be hopelessly ill informed, don't flush your opinion's value in this thread down the toilet like that.

Don't worry norc is not on the top of my list either, I'm a whore for LWRC, HK, LMT and PWS. For me these rifles are the cadillacs of AR's. Oh I forgot Noveske too...Knight Armaments makes some wicked AR's too. But for now all I could (barely) afford was a NEA-15 CQB. I thought a long time about the norc but in the end I was drawn to the NEA-15. What really sold me on the NEA was the free float handguard, the rail system and the 1:7 bull barrel.

I'm suppose to receive it either tommorow or Monday. If thats the case I'll make a complete review with pics of internal parts and external as well.

So, in other words you have champagne tastes and a beer budget. Yet, you'd choose a Norc over a Colt? And your AR ownership experience so far consists of a rifle you've never taken posession of yet? C'mon...:jerkit:

Any problem with not liking colt? Its not like it keeps you awake at night or anything. I've seen, read about and shot plenty of AR's. But with a minimum wage job, a house, a car and all the necessities of life, I find myself pretty darn lucky to have an AR on the way. I just don't like colt. (Its like a Ford vs. Dodge thing don't ask dude)

Fair enough. Your opinion will change as you go down the road. At the top of their game Colt's one of the best without debate, handily in the top tier of your premier list there. They've also had ups and downs over the years. Saying you'd take a Norinco over a Colt made your opinion hard to believe. :)

When they are at that level do you think you will be buying their rifles for $1000? I doubt it. Careful what you wish for.

yes... thank you, it costs money to have a finer comb...

Id rather have the purchase price be all product, with the guarantee that things will be made right if something goes wrong, then pay an extra 100 bucks to have someone inspect my rifle for two hours before it ships

the OP looks like he has a sweet gun from the pictures and what he says about his.

I thought I would throw up some pictures of my NEA-15. I know that some people here are wishing there were more pics and range reports...others are sitting on the fence in light of some of the QC issues..still others are considering cancelling their order. Take these pics for what they are worth and maybe they will help you decide one way or another.

First though, I will try and anticipate some questions and answer them ahead of time:
1) NEA-15 14.5" barrel with 12" rail. Received January 2012, second batch that was shipped out to SFRC
2)400 rounds, zero issues; 300 55gr AE .223, 100 62gr 5.56 PMC X-Tac.
3) I've had no QC problems. My gas key was staked, buffer tube was fine, second batch onward got new trigger group, etc.
4) If it wasn't for limitations imposed at my range I would have shot a heck of a lot more than 400 rounds by now:mad:
5) I don't have a range report because the few times I have had a chance to shoot this rifle (see #3 above) I have been having too much fun shooting to worry about videoing and documenting much more than my sh!t-eating grin.
6) the photographs below were taken in crappy fluorescent lighting so the colours may appear off depending on your monitor. Trust me the rifle is all black and the kool-aid is OD.
7) I didn't wipe down the BCG or anything else for the photos. A boresnake is all the cleaning this rifle has seen.
8) I am not a shill but it is no secret I love my NEA-15. My comments may be biased but hopefully the following photos are not.

By saying that it has nothing to do with Colt quality...no question it's better. It's a statement of protest. We should be able to buy a Colt easier than a KAC, LMT, Noveske, PWS, Stag, RRA, HK, etc.

Norinco has no place in the same post as Colt. Please don't mention Norinco again. ;)
I did own two Colt AR15's before they were restricted and loved them. Well made good shooters. Should have kept the flattop as it had a B. Wylde set trigger job.
Now that I own a Norc M4orgery I can tell the difference. So far, reliability and accuracy are on par. Finish is another story, but the Norc is acceptable as working project. I'm done with safe queens. ;)

whenever I think of buying a colt, I always imagine two pearl handled matched 1911's engraved and all heirloom worthy.

they do make good AR's but for 2-3 grand im going with the pistols

thanks for sharing. I am one of those people who was on the fence. Off the fence for the time being. (I am in no rush, although the STI rifle is looking better and better. )

Still, I would like to know that out of the factory that these NEA rifles (in 10.5-14.5) run with out issue after a short break in period. I would have ordered already but was put off by the issues that are all over this forum. I want to support a Canadian company, but I won't be throwning my money at a product for having a made in Canada sticker if it is not up to par. I would be willing to pay more, but I want a functioning product.

Maurice, if you can wait till monday, I'll let you know how the gun works. My NEA CQB will be in any minutes now. I'll make a review with your name on it. :)

Just received mine yesterday, first thing I did is take it apart. NEA changed their BCG. And the staking was done properly. I'll take pics ASAP.

Got mine, too. But somehow it shipped without a bolt carrier group . Working on solving that dilemma.
