My NEA15 bolt carrier, is it OK?

There is absolutely no need to clean your AR everytime you shoot, especially recreationally in Canada with 5 or 10 round mags. Even overseas I only clean every thousand rounds or so unless it gets really dusty. At home I just add lube.

Thats because I clean my guns every 500 rounds. Which for me IS A DAY at the range. And I still think preventive maintenance is the best way to go when it come to any type of firearms. Hey some people never inspect their car until its broken, and then a wheel comes off...

What do you use over sea? C8? C7?
Would you trust your life over a norc or a nea?
I wouldn't... Un less my AR would be an HK416 or a LMT MRP piston or anything above 2500$ a unit I wouldn't trust it period. But thats just me.:D

FWIW I was never billed till a few days ago when my transfer started, so thats not NEA, thats your retailer, and I knew it would be a few months. and actually I heard about lots of issues with first gen Norcs, awful finish, fit, stuff came loose, mine actually came with a very loose castle nut, and the irons didnt work, but it was a later model when the finish was improved. good gun for 700$ despite minor flaws...

a low profile gas block on brownells is 69.99, and a free float quad rail is 226.99

so paying that extra 300 for a 7.5 nea doesnt sound too far off to me,

not to mention a better barrel, over sized trigger guard, and a fire selector switch that doesnt dig into my hand. oh and nea offers a 7.5 barrel for that price, cant even get a norq that short,

if my nea sucks believe me youll know, but I wont bash something before I shoot it because a few people cant let it go that some BCG's made it out unstaked... everyone got replacements,

and try telling norinco to replace defective irons.

Just so we're clear, it wasn't the retailer in my case. We were all told by NEA that the rifles would be released early October. I put my money down in September and come January, my 10.5 had still not been shipped to my retailer. This is when I got sick of waiting and just bought a Spikes.

I also thought the NEA was great value which is why I pre-ordered one. Then I started seeing all these issues and the way they handled themselves on this forum. Recently, I've had the chance to shoot and examine a few up close at my local range. I was not impressed. Not saying that I would buy a Norc over an NEA but I definitely don't regret paying a bit more for my Spikes.

For me it's a matter of money, time and what works for me.
I don't want a railed quad or even a bottom railed forend. I really want a YHM smooth rail with just the top rail for my front BUIS. The grip and stock gotta go for me with NEA. So, spend money on the NEA and remove three parts immediately or the Norc and just change the grip and stock for less. I prefer the stock handguards much better than quad rails.

Truth is, the Norc gives me that advantage of modifying everything as a gunsmith without paying for accessories I don't want. I plan on making, rechambering and refitting my own barrels. It's already got the MagPul items I want, I reworked the factory trigger into a nice setup despite everyone saying they are crap. Now will try and fix those crappy mags and make them useable, make my own muzzle brake, etc.

I just like polishing stones into gems at half the price of a build.
Yes, I could easily build one from scratch and assemble parts, but that is just too easy and would give me no satisfaction. I do the same for my F-Class target rifles or handguns.
YMMV

I think what Easysauce was suggesting was the fact that you put your money down was the retailer's doing not NEA's. Your retailer wanted "money down in September". Retailers like SFRC didn't ask for a penny until the transfer was started. So though we all had to wait longer than wanted, the fact that you were out the cash for so long doubly sucked!

yeah keys it sucks that production for the canadian commercial market was on hold for so long, I only had to wait 4 months for mine, and I have my norq to shoot in the mean time,

but its a new thing, and I used to work in a CNC shop where even with all the machines going 24/7 paying everyone OT we couldnt put out parts fast enough so im biased to understand that sort of thing i guess...

spikes is also a great gun, i liked it better then the colt I fired, and the spider is a cool look.

Is it just me or did NEA come off a litte rude in their reply?

They seem to be sick and tired of people starting threads complaining about their products. I guess if they made their products properly it wouldn't be an issue.

But I hear that their customer service of fixing their bunk guns is pretty good. But again it wouldn't be needed if it was done right in the first place..... d:h:

I just think they should be trying to set them selfs as leaders in the firearms
world and not bicker with disgruntled armchair qb's. Focus your efforts on making things right. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I am starting to feel ashamed that I have an NEA on preorder.

NEA seems to contradict themselves. They apparently want to build a quality product but also ship a quantity of product. They supposedly want Canadian Customers but at the same time don't need them, so we're not worthy of their direct attention when it seems as though there is too much drama. They say they're not interested in what the "mouth breathers" have to say, yet they are still feeding them. Pick a story, and stick to it.

I think NEA has serious potential but their online presence is disappointing to say the least. I think the person they are using as their online point man is not suitable for the job.

I've come close a few times to dropping some money on NEA stuff but then they say or do something that makes me shake my head. In the end I'm glad that they have only got a minimal amount of money from me.

Shape up NEA, or give up on your online presence. Your behavior online as it is now, isn't going to help you win customers.

So are you saying NEA thinks Canada is only a blip on the radar like KAC? Worthy of some attention, but are not their main customers in the big picture?

Received my NEA-15 CQB. Seems that they changed bolt and the staking is much better.
I have nothing to complain about.

Glad I went Daniel Defense... All I have ever seen in here is bad rep for NEA. I'm not against them at all. But my spidy senses just tell me to avoid. Just waiting for the DD AR. Hopefully they will be well staked.
