just considering what I have read about the NEA 10.5 model. I like the look,LCF, idea,..and that it is Canadian made....i want one. But what I don't want is something that i need to send back, get serviced or figure out. I want to put ammo in mags, put mags in gun and shoot without any significant issues. That just about goes for any 10.5" AR I would want to buy. If it normally takes a different buffer to get it working...why not put a different buffer in it from the start?

I don't think you necessarily need a heavy buffer for a 10.5"; the PDW's that we're talking about are in the 7-9" range.
You may want to rethink this statement.
The pressure at X inches from the chamber is the same regardless of barrel length. The gas doesn't know nor care how much barrel is ahead of the bullet. All that is important to the pressure is how much barrel is behind the bullet.
Carbines have a gas port several inches closer to the chamber thus they experience much higher port pressure than a rifle.
The only difference that barrel length makes is to the dwell time of the pressure curve. On a short barrel with a shorter dwell, a heavier buffer will help keep the bolt locked longer which gives the gas a bit more time to act on the system.

Here's my latest PDW: LWRC PDS 8.5" in 6.8 SPC featuring an AAC 51T muzzle brake, Troy BUIS, Trijicon ACOG TA31RCO-M4 and PRI Gasbuster charging handle. The lower is a 5.56mm LWRC M6 with Geissele trigger, Enindine hydraulic buffer, MOE+ grip and Magpul CTR/LaRue stock. Can't wait to take it to the range...

Thanks guys! Yes, it does have the "fun" markings (just no fun feature, I'm afraid). A few more accessories (BCM charging handle, BAD-A.S.S. selector, Magpul BAD, enhanced trigger guard) and it should be complete. I've decided to replace the CTR with a UBR because it has a slightly longer LOP which is actually a perfect setup with the ACOG. The UBR is also a tad heavier which will nicely balance out the laser and light, and I think that the LaRue RISR may be messing with the Enidine hydraulic buffer - so this is going back on the 7" PDW (which just runs the Spikes ST-T2). Incidentally, that Enidine is very slick; on my 5.56 there's almost no recoil, so I imagine there will be next to nothing on the 6.8 SPC as well. The Noveske "Surprise #### ###!" on the ejection port cover is a nice touch, as well.

No worries - we briefly discussed PDW, CQB, Carbine, Rifle, etc. lengths in another thread not that long ago. Then we debated whether a 7-8" AR15 is actually a 'true' PDW.

Where would one acquire some ballistic gel I wonder?It's actually a Gear Force hand stop (Brownells) and two standard UTG rubberized panels. I've got the Magpul version on order so we'll see if that's a nicer setup...

Where did you get the AAC mount? There was at one time a move afoot in the US to class suppressor mounts as suppressor parts and thus limit one mount per suppressor. I am kinda surprised such a thing would be legally exported because suppressor specific stuff is all ITAR controlled. I haven't even been able to get hold of silencer covers for this reason.
