Reloading Prices are ridiculous in Canada!!

Prices are high but what can you do. When my wife is in Sudbury I give her a shopping list for the shooter's den as shipping a lot of this stuff just doesnt' make sense anymore.

I take the simple approach....My 300WBY factory shells are $73 a box with TSX bullets.
I reload the brass with TSX bullets for $26 a box. I'm not gonna complain about a few bucks on a pound of powder.....

with the price of factory ammo going up all the time it is still the best bet in the world to reload. if you shoot a lot or shoot expensive ammo you will save a few $ over time.

I shoot about 200 rounds of centerfire rifle per week. Ya it does make a difference.

Decent at least. I just ordered 8 8 pound jugs; worked out to $25 a pound, no freight, no PST.

To keep things in perspective the first pound of powder I bought 30 years ago was $20, Hornady .270s were $20 and RCBS dies were $67.

I still have some of those bullets, but copper was a buck a pound then, now it is five bucks.. Twenty bucks an hour was good money then... Things are probably cheaper now compared to wages.. True that does not count if your income has become fixed or is declining. Dollars are getting small.. My two cents...

Last summer powder was $18 per lb Stateside and $36-$40 per lb here.IMR is made in Canada shipped to the US then shipped back and sold at twice the price! 911 screwed everything up for cross border shopping..... Harold

All this means absolutely nothing to the consumer!

Bottom line is I can drive over the border and save $100 on the same press!

Overhead, shipping, freight, licensing, blah, blah, blah........

I could buy presses at retail in the US, and sell em for less then many Canadian dealers.

That's F'd up!
Your right it is F'd up, but it isn't the dealers fault. FS

Thanks for the tip on Hummason RVG!

hummason.com, on their "Specials" page
They make lead shot & specialize in shotgun supplies & reloading but have great deals on powder. Just bought 8 lbs IMR 4320 for $110, they also carry Hodgdon and Winchester, Alliant Powder, Goex black powder, not sure if they carry other powder as well.
Bought the 4320 for 223 and eventually 243. Trying to make my dollar go as far as possible, worked out to $13.75/lb before tax
