I am aware it's not real so don't jump on me for asking but I am curious as to why James Bond has switched back to the Walther PPK? When the P 99 seemed much more sensible, I thought he switched back for Quantum of Solace due to an anniversary of the pistol or something like that. In the most recent book I read he used a PPQ, anyway I was just bored and curious at the same time so thought I'd put it out there.:nest:

I wouldn't be shocked if it was a PPQ in the new one.

watch the new trailer, they make a special point of saying its a ppk/s in .380

anyways, they prob went back to the ppk because its the original bond gun and the craig stuff was all about a back to basics bond (first ones didnt have a ton of gadgets either) plus it looks better and has more history/draw than the p99

actually, the original bond gun was a berretta in .25 acp

Why would Bond use a PPK/S? Thats a USA gun all the way. It only exsists because ppk's couldn't be imported to the USA so they started putting ppk slides/barrels on PP frames.

i still like poster for "From Russia With Love" with Connery holding a Walther LP53, as in "luftpistol" #53
nothing scares the bad guys away like a hard to #### airpistol

IIRC Bond is holding a BSA Scorpion air pistol in the movie poster for "Moonraker". Gotta be something about those hard to #### (don't google that phrase :D) air pistols.

Yes. That's what I thought I remembered, too.
Thanks.

Ian Fleming changed to the Walther on the advice of a Scots Shooter called Geoffrey Boothroyd, Fleming repaid him by naming Q Major Boothroyd.
