Yes I shot a moose with a SKS military rifle about 20 years ago, it was about a forty foot shot, I took it with one round. Can't remember what kind of bullet or powder I used but at the time I did my own reloading. I had that rifle for about a year and sold it, I sure miss it even now, it would put all rounds in about 1" at 200 yards.
