Lets see some pics of your Tacticool VZ 58/858s

I dig the Ace stocks. Mind sharing where you sourced yours?

The EE. I find that it causes the gun to be lower than my cheek weld allows to gain a good sight picture. A red dot set up would work well with it, but the iron sights are tough to use. A longer stock might also fix the issue with being able to more easily acquire the irons.

Giggidy

WOW lots of nice setups in this thread, these babies are made out of almost as much Lego as an AR. Sadly I can't take any credit for my build, I bought it as is, only thing of mine is the AFG, but it's pretty much the exact setup I wanted. In fact it may already be posted in here by the original owner, but here goes anyway:

My vz58. Sorry for crappy pics, no matter what I do with the camera short of mounting it on a tripod, my pics always turn out crappy.

Started work on my newest member of my Czech family. Picked up a Fibre optic front sight along with some parts I had off my CZ858. Not sure what to do about the folder. Leave it or perhaps rubber coat it, or buy something new. Kind of like the compact nature of the regular folder, just don't like the metal of the folder rubbing on the main receiver.

Its plastic for now. I am really hoping they come out with a metal one that has a proper bolt release that can be manipulated with a finger. Its plenty strong though and cheap when it comes to rifle parts.

A couple weeks ago I got started on building an AK-74 pattern CZ with wood ordered from Matt at Ironwood. He's offering a decent russian red finish option now, so those of us who aren't talented with stains and poly urethane can catch a break.

My brother, who does not share my interest in real guns, gave me an airsoft GP-30 from a Canadian company (so I'm assured of the legality). It's a solid piece as far as improvised vertical grips go, though I'm uneasy about the mounting brackets and suspect I will have to weld them back in a short while following heavy use. As far as the other work, I asked a local machinist to help me drill and cut a metal bracket to hold the buttstock, and used the screw from a folding stock set that was drilled by Dmitri for the SVD pattern stock I asked him to make (which is going into storage until I get started on my own proper VSS rig). All in all, it's solid as a rock, though I think I'd prefer a metal butt-plate to the rubber one I'm using. The handguards are actually M70 Tabuk pattern, slightly longer than most AK handguards, but still slightly shorter than the Vz58.

The GP-30 has made it considerably more stable during fire, however it is a bit heavier now, so lugging it around in the bush would be a lot more irritating if it didn't come with a quick-release button. It's a bit of a gimmick, but the grip's in the perfect place to line up with the other, and shooting's very comfortable with it. (Now to get started on a Vintorez...)

It's good to know that it's a relatively cheap and durable part for the platform but here's to hoping they come out with a metal one!

My new OD green 858

Just finished mine up today. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Not cheap... the mag and bolt release alone cost $160 shipped. But they are so worth it.

-BC Tactical Handguard
-Tactical mag release (not sure of the brand, came from Zahals)
-Tactical bolt release (again, not sure of the brand, Zahals)
-Factory CSA side mount (not included with the gun)
-Factory CSA quick release top mount
-CAA stock and mil spec tube
-CAA adjustable cheek riser
-Magpul AFG and side rail covers

I tried and tried to find the bolt release and mag release from a canadian dealer but couldnt find anyone who had both instock (mostly the bolt release) for a more reasonable price than what I got these ones for.

Nice setup pavmentsurfer, I was able to get my bolt release and mag release from Wanstalls but that was some time ago. I bought the BC Tactical version and have been very pleased with their function.
