M14s

Haha my buddy scooped up a whole whack of the 2007's when they were never coming back into the country for $400.00 each (3 mags).

Is yours a 2007 or do you have one of those chump ass 2009 poly's?

There's a 2012 in the serial number so I was assuming it's s 2012.

Frumpy I noticed theres a bayonet stud on your rifle, is that the original muzzle it came with or did you just installed a new one?

That's the original it came with.

picked up a bayonet for it, however, the base of the bayonet hits the gas tube and will not go on (lock in)

Should have checked with me first as I would have saved you some $$
The bayonet will have to be modified some how to fit by shortening the handle.
Maybe cutting the handle and rewelding it ??

I was thinking off cutting a piece out of it in the handle area as if you mess around with the back it may screw up the locking mechanism .

I have an extra flash eliminator with bayonet lug... if you want you can borrow it and then you can drop them both off at a nearby welding shop ;) to get it to fit correctly.

Or if its to much hassle sell it to me ...lol

So what makes the 2007's so special vice later production ones?

The 2007's had a lot of the frequently talked about issues here, but the good ones seem to be very accurate and the finish is durable. The trigger on mine is excellent, better than any I have used other than the trigger jobbed models. I bought mine from Marstar when there were never any m305's coming into the country again and they found a box of 100 rifles. The barrel indexing is off a few degrees, so in turn the op rod wasn't aligned properly. Other than that it has been a hell of a shooter.

EDIT: The wood stock sucked ass on the 2007's

Wait a second, didn't I meet you at an M14 clinic frumpy!? :p
Enjoy your new rifle, you have a great range to shoot it at, lucky sob.

Yup, but it was Travis Bickles M14 (I think he owes me a few hours of work on my trigger now lol).

Your welcome to come out to any of the ranges we have as my guest.

lol No now we're even as you got to learn using my rifle ;)

I have a 2007 Norc.

Funny my break/front sight assembly is slightly off to the right and tac welded  But one click left on the rear windage knob corrects it just fine.

I also had to realign and tac weld the op rod guide in line with the gas system/piston.

Wierd coincidence?

The finish is really nice on mine. It's no hack job that's for sure.

I got mine second hand brand new condition for $300 cash about 2 years ago :D

She is a fantastic shooter!

STOP!! Put down that dremel! :D Don't modify that gas plug. Norc gas plugs (as spares) are hard to locate!

Just leave that bayonet in the alternate CQB position!

It's between your teeth just like my Sgt Rock comic books! Budda Budda! :runaway:

Cheers,
Barney

Hey brother,

Don't take this the wrong way. Just trying to help out. I believe your sling is installed backwards.
