Robarms XCR FAQ post

probably because it isn't an issue.

Hmmm we are around thousand of people on XCRforum who got the same issue.

You wont get this issue is you've shot only 300 rounds in your rifle. But if you've shot around 800 and more, you're starting to get rubber parts in your action/bolt/lower...

I know the gas level has something to do with the pad destruction also...
When breaking-in rifle you need to shoot your first 350 rounds (hot load-american eagle 55gr.) at level 4.
After, you can bring it down to level 2.

I assure you that Camp Cook has shot more than 300 rounds through his XCR's! as have I and most likely many others here, thanks for the advice though.

during break in when it was run on gas setting 4 i needed to replace the rubber buffer, but to be fair there is a lot of force hitting that on setting 4 with that heavy piston, after i replaced it i switched to gas setting 1, shes run like a top ever since no issues no wear

Same for me... I wear down my pad when running level 4 too...

I'm running level 2 or 1, depending on the load and weight of the bullet (55gr. Vs 62gr.)..

I've got about 1700 rounds through my 7.62x39 XCR. The buffer is like new.

Break-in was on 3, and it runs on 1 or 2 depending on which surplus ammo I'm shooting.

it's piece of polymer/rubber it is meant to wear out like car tires, just buy a few and keep in your kit.

Personally I have never have to change mine on either the rifle or the pistol and I used pretty much Ed's Red for cleaning and lube, both buffer looks like brand new.

I thought I would share this!
Lately I was having some FTF(Failure to Feed-Jam) and gas setting issues...

The Rilfe is new, bought it last May 2012, my 3RD XCR-L! BUT
the barrel was from my previous XCR-L so I have about 3500-4000rds shot with this one....
My 1st reaction was the wrong one..thought there was a problem with the rifle, turns out the problem was with me, the operator :)
Rifle is now cycling fine and on all settings...took it to range today and put around 200rd's down range, all my mags, standing, bench rest, quick follow-ups etc...ZERO issues!

Operator neglect, my fault! I finally did a full-strip down and cleaned the gas block and soaked the gas port selector in solvent...rifle is shooting great now on Gas Setting 1 :)
So make sure after 500-800 rds clean that GAS PORT!

Hey guys, what are you using to clean your XCRs? I think the manual recommends something like SLP EWL 2000, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding it. I only have a few hundred rounds through it and haven't cleaned it yet. I've been reading a lot of conflicting things about general gun cleaning like about cleaning rods and barrel damage and such. Please help out a newbie. Thanks!

Anyone seen metal shavings when field stripping their XCR?

My gun has never failed to fire/eject/jam, but I just noticed this now.

Also, it seems that you can close the charging handle about 90% and then pull the trigger, which forces the bolt closed. Is this a concern for firing out of battery?

Sorry guys I couldn't find an answer for this anywhere. But since the barrels are specially manufactured for Canada are they marked and rated for 5.56 or .223? Just wondering since I mostly shoot surplus 5.56 and don't want/need any problems. Thanks guys!

It's chambered for 5.56mm/NATO, marked .223 Rem for export purposes...

Mpro7 to clean or wipeout, if its copper fouled. One piece carbon fiber or coated cleaning rod. Sako bore guide. The only lube I have ever used if G96, sray on wipe off, works well for carbon too.

XCR magazines.

Hey new to the site but I seem to be having some difficulty in tracking down XCR mags in 7.62x39. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

10 round pistol mag:

Note that the pistol mag fits and is legal to use in the rifle.

hey just got mine in the mail from wanstalls. i have shot about 200 rounds through it now. I am wondering what sort of accuracy people have been getting at 100 yards in .223
