I am thinking about buying a Remington 700 and was just wondering about their quality... I know the 870 shotgun quality has gone down the tubes so did their rifle quality get poor also?

Haters.I bought a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 last year. I have only put 100 rounds through it so far, but I haven't had any problem and I am very happy with the accuracy. Several of my friends told me Remington horror stories before I purchased it, yet they don't actually own any.

The fact is, your chances of getting a good one far outweigh any chance of picking up a bummer.
A lot of Tikka owners jump on the bandwagon to slag the Remington 700.
However, I have owned a T3 that was a horrible shooter with anything you tried in it.
You can guess how long I kept that turkey.
I'm not slagging Tikka T3s, most of them are very accurate.
Just using it to illustrate that they all have duds in their stables from time to time.
Buy that 700, you will love it!!
Eagleye.
I've never had a problem with remington 700's, and wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
