Got my first one ever this afternoon. Drove to side of huge empty grassy meadow while looking for deer sign and saw it running across the field.. Hopped out and put a 480gr hard cast flat point in my 45-70 and took aim. Gave it about a foot lead and gave it a foot of elevation. It was running left to right...huge boom... 480's at 1700 fps are fun. Coyote somersaults and crashes.
Hop back in with buddy and drive over.... 180 yards and right through middle of the chest breaking both front legs and hitting lots of important stuff.
I wouldn't bet on me pulling it off twice though...
If you are trying to save the pelts, you will likely not be happy with a Partition on yotes. The exit wound will be fist sized. I would recommend using the Hornady VMAX bullet. They are designed to be frangible & you will rarely get an exit wound. Good luck with your coyote hunting!

I've yet to hit one with this bullet anyone have any experience with it or any other 40 gr?
I had a hell of a time getting the 40gr to shoot out of my savage, eventually just going with factory 32gr.
They go in, jelly em on the inside and don't come out.
I switched up my powder to 4064 and am going to try it again. (was using h335)
other than harris bipods are there any others that do ~25" and swivel?
As for snowshoes, i have a set of MSR's that seem to work alright.
